I was recently diagnosed as being anemic as well as having a low white cell count on my CBC. I have had no luck in finding information on the net in regards to a lowered white cell count being associated with iron deficiency anemia. My doctor indicated that the WBC would increase with the iron supplements - anyone out there experiencing the same thing?

i am anaemic, severly bcoz i left it untreated for years. Mine is due to heavy periods. however, when i recently took a blood test, wbc was slightly low also.i was more scared on hearing that. my doctor thinks its the blood lost and the anaemia.. i was given vitamins with iron....

When I was diagnosed with pernicious anemia (B-12 defiency) my WBC was always in the range of 2000 or less and it was like that for 10 yrs, was sent to a oncologist to check for blood cancer and he suggested B-12 testing as my blood cells were large and irregular. Since being on B12 shots for 6 yrs my WBC is in the range of 3000 or more.
