Hey everyone,
I woke up this morning feeling pretty good. My throat was sort of dry so I dranked about a glass of water. The dryness made my throat hurt more than it had been, but still very much tolerable. I have to take back what I said about the pain pills. I realized that I need to take pain pills before I eat or it is quite painful when you try and swallow. It also makes your ears hurt like crazy. I still need to take my pain meds, but only when I eat and no other time.
It seems like your throat is smaller and I have to make sure I chew all my food and on top of that make sure that the portions are very small. One good thing about it though, you will definitely shed some pounds. I have not weighed myself yet, but I estimate 5 to 7 lbs of weight thus far. I expect to probably lose another 5 to 10 lbs. There is no way you can eat a normal meal, your throat just will not allow it.

Holy cow. I just read your reply to my reply to your post from day 5# and just about soiled myself when I read that you were 40 years of age. That is the exact age I am!!. that gives me greater confidence if I ever have to go through this myself.
Here's a toast to your complication-free recovery:)

Here's a toast to your complication-free recovery:) Thank you, This is why I decided to give an day by day account. I hope this does help someone that is thinking about or getting ready to have the surgery.
Cheese_man, did I mention that I do not look a day over 30 :).
