i have been living with auto-immune hemolytic anemia now for almost 4 years. constantly doing visits to the hospital to have IVIG's and metholpredisone done. i am just looking to see if there are any other auto-immune people out there who would kind of understand what i am going through and we can share experiences. anyone care to talk?

Hi Radioflyer,
My wife Christina had/has AIHA (mixed case) and is
in good shape after a splectomy in March y2k.
Note, she did her treatment in KCK at KU med
(I noticed your locale in your post handle).
Not sure if your docs are there. Hers were Dr.
Deaunu and Dr. Cook (and Dr. Stein in Lawrence).
We did tons of research on AIHA. btw, the classic
book on the subject by Dr. Lawrence Petz and
George Garratty which is out of print and hard
to get can be bought used at a bookstore in
Leavenworth called "L and V outlet". They have a couple
of copies in a huge pile of medical books that they
must have bought by the truckload. I've mailed
copies to people as far away as England that I snagged
there.
Anyway, if there's ever anything we can do to
help please yell.
