Hi Philster or anyone that can help me.

I need a taper plan for a family member that takes approximately 100mg of Hydrocodone a day. She takes 10 10mg a time once a day. She says she will only do it in the easiest least painful way. Plesae help. She is a very young person with a lot to offer and knows she needs to be sober. Any help with plans would be very helpful and appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Drop one pill a week for 6 weeks, then 1/2 a pill a week for the next 8 weeks. There is no need to rush. The brain needs time to adjust to functioning without drugs.

I have to be honest though, as an old time veteran, I don't think her chances are good right now. Motivated people seek help on their own. She has not even started yet and already she is making excuses. Not trying to discourage anyone, just hard core addiction reality. She may suffer from the disease of addiction, which would explain a lot.
