I read that some pdocs use prozac to come off effexor; to help with the symptoms of coming off effexor and other SSRIs. I am looking for a reference to show my doctor. Does anybody know where it is posted? I saw it on the internet and it was posted by a Dr. Ivan whose last name I forget.

prozac and effexor are both different types of antidepressants so this sounds unlikely, best med for stopping an antidepressant is any valium type
effexor is actually a SNRI

Do a search using www. visisimo.com, I don't think there is a board rule against posting a search engine address. If so, and the address gets removed, do the following:
Do a search using Visisimo search engine.
Search using: effexor to prozac by Dr. Ivan
Look for "Tips to Reduce Antidepressant Withdrawal Symptoms"
