Wondering if anyone with Nearsightedness and Astigmatism has had the Lasik prodcedure. If so, what were your results? Considering the surgery and am told that with astigmatism it must be completed in 2 sessions not just one.
Any comments and / or advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm from California. I had Lasik done. I also, have astigmatism. They did it in one procedure. I'm not 20/20, but a hell of a lot better than I was. I no longer have to wear eye glasses.
And if anyone wants to know can you have Lasik after having, dang, can't spell it, (radiokertomy??), eye surgery correctness with a diamond tip blade. Well I did. Had the blade surgery in 1988. Then the lasik in 2002. Love it, great with the results.
Only I was nearsighted, now it seems, I have to hold things a little further away to read. But am very satisfied.

I had lasik surgery in the summer of 2002. I was 44 and had worn glasses since I was 7. I was near-sited and had terrible astignatism. I was on the boarder-line of not being able to have it done. I walked in not getting my hopes up of being able to have the procedure, but when they tested my eyes, they came back to say I was indeed a canidate! Wow was I shocked. And a little up-set. My family eye doctor not just a few months before told me I would never be able to have it done. But I thought...what the heck, I'm going to go and check it out for myself. I'm glad I did. The surgery went great and my last check up I was 20/20 in one eye, and 20/15 in the other after being 20/400 before!. My re-coup time was a bit longer than most..meaning the ghostly outlines, and the halos. I still have a bit of star-burst effect at night when I look at bright lights. But nothing to get upset about. I still need glassed when reading,,but thats what getting older will do to you.
A couple of months after I had my eyes done, we took a cruise to the Bahamas. My first time on one and the first time I'd seen the ocean. On one of our excursions, we went to Blue Lagoon Island and I got to swim with 2 dolphins. We also went snorkling. I would of never been able to enjoy that without glasses if I hadnt had the surgery. Ask me? It was worth every penny. And dont be afraid of the procedure itself, its a piece of cake. They will even give you a valium to relax you before they do it. Take it from me....you will want to take it if they offer it to you. I was a nervous wreck. But there was actually nothing to it......10-15 minutes and it's all over. I cant wait to have my eyes done someday to rid of reading glasses :bouncing:

I had LASIK done 3 years ago, I was nearsighted and now am 20/20. It is truly a miracle surgery-the person that thought it up is a total GENIUS!! It is worth the money-doesn't hurt and only takes about 5 minutes per eye. Results are IMMEDIATELY seen (bad pun intended!) Go for it, you won't regret it!

I live in Ohio and went to Lasik Plus in Cincinnati. I dont know if they have other offices in other parts of the country or not. You could probably look it up on the internet. Make sure you go to a reputable company. I know of a woman who went to a fly-by-night outfit, and now is paying for it. Her eyes are all messed up.

I had astigmatism and was very nearsighted and I got beautiful results from my Lasik, 20/15 vision! It takes 1 week of recovery time for each degree of correction, I had 9 degrees of correction, so my recovery took 9 weeks. I don't regret it, it's the BEST thing I've done in years.
Good luck
