I have been taking Ultram for 6 years now and am up to 10 a day if not more, and I need to start to come off of this. I have tried b4 but have had terrible withdrawls, i.e. restless legs, tickle in my throat, these especially at nite. I was wondering if there is a tapering schedule that someone knows about, or a natural detox, or a way to alleviate the w/d sxs. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I def do not take them for the pain, just to be on it for the feelings i get and to prevent the w/ds.

I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. It's extremely unfortunate. However, we've all been there or are there now. I would drop 10% each week. For example, if you are taking 10 per day, drop down to 9 per day for a week and then 8 for another week, etc. If you do it this way, your wds should not be severe. There are other posts that will tell you what else to take during withdrawals... If you search around, you will find it. John 3:16 has instructed some people so you can search on her name as well. I just don't know the exact stuff right off hand... I know some recommend Immodium, Benadryl, l-tyrosine for energy, and xanax or valium for sleep and anxiety... But only take those for about 7 days as they are very addicting too. I feel for you... Please keep us posted on your progress. We'd like to know how you are doing and we are all here to help you.

For an ultram addiction I would suggest klonopin, 2-4 mg a day for 7 days. If you have never taken it, start at 1mg or even a half and see how you do. You will probably sleep most of the time. The dose of ultram you are taking is nearly within upper limit of prescribed doses. You should not have a real hard time.

Thanks, the only prob is that Klonopin is only available as a triplicate Rx, and I dont have a doctor that I can go to as of yet.

I was on Ultram for about three years 10 to 15 a day. I went c/t and it was the worst experience in my life. I can only tell you try and taper, I did not and do not have the will power to do this. If you like I can tell you what to expect, but no cure.Only that it will go away. My story is on the board. I think we all have to face W/D's at some point to ever get clean.

I have taken ultram before, but never got a buzz unless I took way more than I was supposed to.
Then I heard you can get a seizure if you take too many of them, so I have never taken any since.
