Hello..
I went to a spa yesterday as I was scheduled for a wax. And as they ask you if you have this this and that, some of these forms say that they "may not" be able to treat someone with open sores OR if you have HSV...
Wasn't sure about this so i walked outta the salon quite sad almost cryed and went home :( Has anyone ever experienced this? how can I tell a complete stranger about this. I know it's common but most people have a stigma attached to it. I should be able to get a wax just like anyone else. :(

I'm sure that they meant if you have open sores. But then.... why would you want to wax in the midst of an OB anyway? Don't worry about it, just dont go when you're having an OB and you'll probably be fine!

I have to go every few months for an pelvic ultasound which includes them sticking a dildo-like thing up inside you with a camera attached to it. They also put a condom over it and the technician is always wearing gloves. Last time I went to a new clinic. She has it inside me and for some reason I start to talk about Latex condoms. She says "oh, our clinic doesn't use latex condoms and we don't wear latex gloves either. Too many people are allergic to latex so our condoms and gloves at this clinic are not latex." I swear I thought I was going to have a panic attack and when I got home I told my husband I was beyond upset that they stuck this thing in me without the condom being latex. I'm much calmer about it now but I did say to her that if I was in the middle of an outbreak her latex gloves wouldn't had offered her the protection she would need. I'm going to talk to my gyno about this because I don't like going to a place that doesn't use latex. I also get concerned about how many technicians taking blood don't even wear gloves yet their fingers touch my blood. And the same goes with being waxed. I can understand them not wanting to bikini wax if the person has an o/b but now that makes me wonder if the strips they use might be carrying something from the previous client that uses them. Do they throw the strips away or wash them?

They should be throwing the strips away and they shouldn't recycle the wax. If they do its against regulation and that tells you how "clean" the spa is
