Does anyone know if this is alright to do? I'm having a hard time sleeping during my first weeks of Paxil, so I was wondering if I could take an Ambien to help me in that department? Thanks.

Hi Jeff,
I started taking Ambien when I was on Zoloft (which is similar to Paxil) because I couldn't sleep either. It worked well for me but unfortunately I'm still taking it every night. Be careful you don't take it more than a few weeks or you might become dependent on it. It is at least milder than some of the benzos that people use for sleep; I don't have and sleep "hangover" the next day. Hopefully you'll get used to the Paxil and won't need a sleep aide after awhile.

Hi Jeff, it is fine to take these two pills together but not without your doctor's approval. I was on Paxil years ago and I was taking sleeping pills and that was all through my doctor's consent.
Good luck!
