Hi Betsy,

I have my 8th one tomorrow and what I can tell you is to start taking Motrin or Tylenol about 2 to 3 hours before your shot and you can alternate between the two if you wish to keep it in your system. I also take the shot towards the evening so I can sleep through most of the side effects. My first time I had chills, low fever, & aches simular to the flu, but since then this has decreased greatly to just a low fever and slight joint discomfort. I have heard others say to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day as well (I haven't tried this yet). Plus either set out the syringe or I just hold it in my hand for about 5 to 10 minutes to warm it up. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
It does get easier through time, just gives us a new meaning to T.G.I.F.

Take Care,
Dave :)

Thanks for the advice. I will keep both on hand just to be safe. How long do they side effects normally last? Hopefully things wont be to bad.

Thanks
Betsy

Hello again Betsy,

The first time the worse was mainly over by mid day Sunday. Just try and take it easy if possible, I have a three year old and sometimes it is hard for them and even some adults to understand what you are going through but just take care of yourself. Also DO NOT be intimidated by the needle, there are no nerve endings in the muscle and the only sting you feel is in the skin layer after that it's just a little pressure, it's over in no time at all.
Please let us know how it goes and if you have ANY other questions and do not hesitate to ask.

Good Luck and take care, :)
Dave

Dave,

With the first injection, did you take a half a dose or a full dose? My Neuro told me only to take a half a dose the first time.

Betsy
