Hello Board!
I posted for the first time the other day. Thanks to those of you who shared your thoughts and opinions. I now have another question. My ex, who is currently entering a 6 week program for psychotherapy, has had his meds recently adjusted while in the hospital. He is now on Lithium and Olanzapine(sp?) and he takes an ativan on occasion for his antsiness. He used to take Depakote and Welbutrin. I have noticed a few things since his meds have changed. For one, he has panic attacks..alot! For two, he forgets things. We will have discussions that he blacks out on. This frightens both of us. Is this a common side effect of any of the above mentioned drugs? These meds are making him goofy and unbearable. Any thoughts?

How much olanzepine is he taking? I take 7.5 mg to help me sleep, and it really does a good job of conking me out. Maybe that might be it.

I don't know about the medicines he is taking but I take wellbutrin, depakote, effexor, seraquel and temazipan. I have forgetfullness also. I can be talking to my husband and in the middle of the conversation it is like I blank out and then the next thing he says I ask him what is he talking about. It's like coming in on the end of a conversation but in reality I was there the hole time. I forget to eat, don't know what I did yesterday or sometimes what I was doing an hour ago. Luckily me husband reminds me to take my pills!

I take 1 mg ativan every day, for a very long time, and I also take lithium, and sonata for sleeping. I am very forgetful, I lose things around the house, I forget movies right after I watch them, and I also forget words, and whole sentances when talking. I read that some side effects of ativan are: memory lose, and anxiety, even though it is an anti anxiety medicine. Since different meds affect people differenty, it's hard to say. I've never heard of olanzepine. I sure hope they get his meds straightened out and things get better. ;)

I have the same symptoms as Weasel... And a totally flat learning curve..
My problem is that it could be a side effect of my meds (on lithium only since '85) or it could be menopause symptoms. And to make matters worse, I honestly don't remember when it started getting so bad!!
All I know is that memory problems do seem to be a side effect of most mood-stabilizers.
Or, I THINK I remember that!!
