tly to orginal doctor for satuation shots of B-12. Orginal doctor said 100 micro grams was sufficent per month, severe ups and downs. On the internet, minimun 1000micrograms per month. Sent for schillings test, no absorbtion. MD refused to give more than 100micrograms per month. Sent to Mexico and got B-12. Gave 1000 micrograms, (prior medic) found-out the more my body requried the better I felt. My question is what amount of cyanocobalam do I need and what about the other vitimums/prognoses, memory lost, almost blind/color blind. Learned to live with the stomach problems. thanks in advance.

Actually it took me about 3 yrs to get saturation. It depends on how low the level was at diagnosis. I was at 96 and was symptomatic for several years, my Dr wants my level at 2000 to determine how often I will be giving myself injections. I am now at 1500 after 7 yrs of 1000mcg twice a month. Most of the nerve damage is not reversable, some childhood memories have come back, my optic nerve atrophied and continues to deteriate especially the right eye retina and nerves. It is a individual thing. Why some people can have easy repair and others don't is something they haven't figured out yet. You may be playing with this for awhile til they get it to the right saturation.
