I have anemia on and off. My doctor has put me on iron tables for 3 months straight. I have been trying to fall pregnant for 10 months now. Does anyone know any connection with not being able to conceive and iron deficiency. My doctor said that there could be a connection however he wants to wait 3 months to see how well the iron tablets kick in. My period is pretty regular.

Im getting pretty desperate.

I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING. I HAD TWO CHILDREN AND I DID NOT KNOW I WAS SEVERLY ANEMIC UNTIL I GOT PREGANT WITH MY THIRD CHILD.I MEAN SEVERLY,THEY WANTED TO GIVE ME A BLOOD TRANFUSION.ANYWAY I HAVE NO PROBLEMS GETTNG PREGANT.I'VE HAD TWO MORE SINCE. TRY TAKING PRENATAL PILLS NOW. YOU MAY BE DEFIICENT IN OTHER MINERALS.GOOD LUCK,IT'S ALWAYS FUN TRYING.DON'T STRESS OVER IT THAT TENDS TO HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH IT.

Hi Rema,
I just wanted to let you know that I have been TTC for two years now and I am also anemic. They found out that the reason I am anemic and haven't been able to conceive yet is because I have a large fibroid (a non cancerous tumor which is very common to get during the reproductive years) inside my uterus. It has been causing very heavy bleeding which in turn causes the anemia. The doctors said that it takes up the whole uterine cavity and it would be virtually impossible for me to get pregnant with it in there. I am going to have it removed with a hysteroscopic resection so that hopefully, we will be able to start treatment for infertility.
Take care, and I hope they find out what the cause is of your anemia. That's my story. I am not saying you have a fibroid, but it wouldn't hurt to ask for an ultrasound. It can tell you so much and it's such a simple test.
Stacy
