I am 60 years old, have CAD, prior MI, and thyroid problems. My BP was averaging 140/80 bpm @72. I have been taking Tenormin 25mg for years.
At the beginning of the month I purchased what is called a ‘chi swing machine’, (no brand name used), which is a passive exercise machine. In the past two weeks I have watched my BP drop from 140/80 bpm 72 to 121/65 bpm 62. I feel good, no lightheadedness or dizziness, my color looks great. This all sounds great but I found one website that said a drop in BP in the elderly can be a sign of a more serious problem. I don’t know whether or not to be happy or call my MD. Any comments are appreciated, thanks.

What exactly does this 'chi swing machine' do? How is it used?

I personally would be happy as long as you are feeling good :)

If you do a search on ‘chi swing machines’ you will find what they are. Briefly, you lie on your back and place your ankles on the machine. The machine gently sways your body much like a fish. I am still skeptical but quite hopeful this machine is lowering my BP. IMO, If this machine keeps me off BP meds it is worth it’s weight in gold. I had tired Altace in the past and I had a negative experience with it which resulted in discontinuing the medication.
