I have just started a program based on diet which has made me have massively reduced pain and swelling, in 3 DAYS. The diet claims that after months may even reverse the effects of arthritis.
The diet is very strict but honest to God I think its worth it.
Basically you have to cut out all starches, especially all breads. All white flour products must go. No bread, cake, pancakes, pasta, rice, etc You should also cut out coffee, tea, sodas, alcohol.Tinned food is out, all man made foods is out. no salamies, pies.
Basically, it is based on a hunter gatherer diet. Starches are man made and produce high blood sugar levels, that we can't digest, and this is stored in our joints and thats what causes arthritis. (thats sort of the theory)
Your diet should consist of meats, cheese, milk, and tons of fresh veg, salad and fruit.
So for breakfast you can yougurt and fruit, milk, I had eggs
Lunch is meat with veggies or salad
so to is Dinner.
I know alot of you are going to baulk at the idea of giving up your fav foods but maybe its worth trying, I am certainly giving it a go. In 3 days I wake up in no pain (last week I was in agony i could hardly sleep), I can run, swim and stretch 50% better than I could last week...in 3 days! I have not taken any drugs as I haven't needed them.

Sounds good, but you forgot to mention to eat 100% whole wheat or bran and to drink a lot of water each day. Also NO sugars or products with sugar. A normal multi-vit would be good too.

thanks for the 8info about MSM, I have found it to be very useful.
As for the whole wheat suggestion, actually, I find wheat of any king makes the inflammation worse, but I get by using Rye/Rice flours for most things.

there is a realitivly new product out there that is called cetyl myristoleate. Its also called the Wd40 for the joints. When its combined with glucosamine and methyl sulfonylmethane you get the absolute best blend of ingredients to help promote healthy joint and tissue health. I strongly advise anyone to check this stuff out it is incredible. Good luck

I'm confused.....if you can't eat rice, how can you use rice flour?
My stomach reacts to wheat & rye, any other substitutes? Also, what is MSM? Ann
