View Full Version : Ear problems causing seizures?

Has anybody ever heard of ear problems causing Grand Mal seizures?????

Weird thing is Grand Mal seizures appear to get milder and milder in relation to sinus congestion. ??

(note: Specifically, extreme allergic reaction to dust and smoke.)

I just had a third MRI, very extensive and results were normal.

Odd thing is I can prevent a seizure from hitting if I blow my nose really hard and force are into my ears a few times. I have a problem with my left ear.

It kind of hurts but I have been able to do this several dozen times.

I have not tried to interfere with the seizure sensation a few times just to see if a seizure would really hit and I had a seizure.

Because I am now less congested, even after the Grand Mal seizure I am not really very dizzy and I actually feel kind of normal.

????

I have never heard of anything like this except in some syncope events. Have you ever been tested for this? It is a heart or blood pressure problem that can cause seizures.
WIth stiffling that sneeze you would raise the bp briefly and maybe this stops the event.

Sorry that I cannot be of more help...

i could be wrong, but i was told that i should stay away from getting sick, headcolds... because any infection could cause a seizure.

Moonsmile, I had a pretty bad fever. Where specifically are the infections more dangerous?
