I am so anxiously waiting to see my Dr. He has been out of the country for about 2 months! I think I will soon be starting on Progesterone to control my seizure- I have gran mals during my period. Any information people can give me about this would be great. Any side effects? Weight gain? This might show how ignorant I am about hormones, but can you get pregnant while on Progesterone? Has it controlled your seizures. Right now I am on Keppra 2500 mg, and Loestrin (birth control) We discovered that this was the only birth control that helped with my seizures- when I went off it I had a number of gran mals. Anyone have thoughts on that? Is it the lower estrogen level? I read the posting on this board about seizures @ your period- I remember someone said that birth control can cause seizures and recommended going off of it and starting progesterone. It is weird that my birth control apparently controls my seizures, but I still need back-up (Keppra)
