My mother (age 82) has severe arthritis in her neck. She doesn't have pain, but a lot of stiffness. In addition, she has some very strange symptoms which doctors haven't been able to diagnose, but possibly relate to the arthritis. She is constantly light-headed, a little dizzy, but mainly a light-headed, spacey feeling; feels a lot of pressure at the back of her head as though someone were pushing her; feels pressure behind her eyes. She says it's like the feeling you get when you cross your eyes; that kind of intensity and pressure.
Could this be arthritis headache?
Could this in some way relate to the arthritis in her neck/upper spine?
Her chiropractor thinks so, but the neurologist and internist she sees do not seem to think so. They think maybe she has a pinched nerve coupled with anxiety, but really, they don't have a clue.
MRI showed nothing unusual.
Anyone ever heard of these symtoms? Please e-mail me! My poor mother, she just lost my dad last year, and all she wants is to feel ok so she can start putting her life back together again. This feeling she gets is very debilitating; she's been unable to go out or accomplish much, it's so uncomfortable for her. Thank you.
(By the way, her health is otherwise fine, and she doesn't take any drugs of any kind.)
