hi, I am a little concerned I may be at risk for diabetes. I looked up some sits and here are the symptoms (as I am sure everyone already knows)
*Frequent urination
*Excessive thirst
*Extreme hunger
*Unusual weight loss
*Increased fatigue
*Irritability
*Blurry vision

the ones I have are
*Increased fatigue
*Irritability
*Blurry vision
*Frequent urination

my great grandmother has diabetes but my parents don’t. I am concerned now because of all the symptoms I have and also lately I have been having headaches where when I bend over then stand up my head just screams in pain for a few seconds and my friend told me that is sugar level related????
I just had a baby and while I was preg. they tested me for this but said I was ok, and that was about 5 months ago, but I have had these symptoms as long as I can remember...I don’t want to go to the doctor cause I am afraid of having blood work done (I pass out when I get it taken sometimes) hey isn’t that sugar level related too???

I am 5'4 135lbs and physically quite healthy (not such a great diet though)

I am just scared, am I over analyzing this or should I be concerned?

Actually, postural headaches are from blood pressure fluctuations. They are common in pregnant women and can affect you for weeks after your baby is born. It is something I would convey to your Dr. Passing out when you get your blood drawn is an anxiety issue and not blood sugar related either. All of the rest of what you describe could be blood sugar related.

The frequent urination could be your body releasing fluid you held on to while pregnant, the irritablility could be hormones, the blurry vision could be more of the blood pressure fluctuations, and the tiredness could be the fact that you just had a baby.

I would go in to the Dr and tell him what all you are experiencing. He can decide if you need a glucose test. Chances are, since your pregnancy glucose test was fine, these are all just signs of different things none of which are major. Good luck

I would advise you, if you are having blurred vision and it doesn't seem to get any better, to see an eye doctor. Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness. I don't have diabetes, but I met a lot of people in a blind rehab center, that I went to, that were going blind from diabetes.

Do you live close to your great grandma? If so, why don't you check your blood sugar on her monitor? Amie
