I've had psoriatic arthritis for several years and cannot find a lot of information about it. I know that about 2% of the population has psoriasis and about 2% of that group has psoriatic arthritis. No doubt the reason there is little written on this is because it's so rare. I came to this site originally because I was trying to find info about Arhro-7. I had received a large flyer in the mail about it, but of course, nothing is written about psoriatic arthritis. I am presently on Sulfasalazine and Flurbiprofen. I have occasional flare-ups that are usually helped by injections of Aristospan. I've had the joints removed from the toes of my right foot because of the permanently fused joints that happened before I was properly diagnosed. Does anyone have any information on psoriatic arthritis, or experience of taking Arthro-7 with this type of arthritis? Thanks for any information.

Hi,
My hubby has psoriatic arthritis. Unfortunately there is NOT alot of info out there on it. His condition has improved over the years with good nutrition and no stress. He has tried so many things: Numerous NSAIDS, Pain Meds, Ridaura, Methotrexate, and the best thing is Ibuprofen 800 mg several times per day. He also uses Dovonex Cream, very expensive but works well on the skin lesions. He did try Arthro-7 and several other homeopathic remedies (can't remember the names of all of them) and they did give him relief the first month he tried them but then quit working. Many doctors will treat it like rheumatoid arhtritis since the symptoms are so similar. With your doctors supervision, you should keep trying things til you find something that works for you. When we changed our lifestyle and learned to relax and de-stress, his symptoms have improved greatly. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but we had to say hello to a fellow sufferer. Be well,

Can't give you better advice than to go to the www.roadback.org (http://www.roadback.org) website. There you can ask any question and get several immediate answers from people who have it.

I have the same condition but it was my left elbow that was fusing. My elbow only straightens about 60%. My doc prescribed Methotrexate so it won't get any worse and it also helps with the psoriasis. It is a very controversial drug and I am not convinced that long term side effects have been determined. I personally am willing to take the chance since i was loosing mobility in major joints and I was still in my late twenties. Good Luck ! StiffJim

If I remember correctly, methotrexate, gets to the root of the psoriatic arthritis problem: The Psoriasis. My husband did notice a difference when he was on it but it was difficult for him to take. He lost a lot of weight and he just didn't feel weel. I've been told it is a cancer drug, so I'm not quite sure how it works (attacks the bone marrow..who knows?). I don't mean to turn you off the idea some people have great success with it and I sincerely hope you are one of them. Let us know how it works.

Hi-I have had PA for 13 years. I have been on many different medications- including the worse one- Methotrexate. It does work, but it also makes you sick- and it has possible liver damange problems related to it.I have tried to maintain with only anti-inflamatory meds- which do ok- to a point. I have seen that arythritis Dr's and dermatologists don't seem to know what to do with me( who should treat me) and they have given me conflicting advice several times. I would like to find out more clear information on this- as it can cause heart problems, etc- I am as frustrated as you are!!

I have had incredible success with my first remicade treatment. It is super expensive and is not available at the Pharmacy. It is administered through the hospitals via an IV, takes about 3 hours. I have had one treatment and I have discontinued my daily Vioxx pills and am pain free still after one week.(I have another listing describing a little more about the treatment on the main lists "remecade" which should be remicade.
Please consider looking into this drug with your DOC, and see if there are any groups that will help financially.
Good Luck ! StiffJim
