Hello. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some sleepers for me. I have Bipolar Type I, and anyway im coming off a Benzo addiction so all the benzos are out, and i do not sleep much at all. Ive tried stylnox but that does nothing for me anymore. My friend who has bipolar takes largactil for sleep, but im already on an atypical antipsychotic so i dont know if a typical would mix too well with an atypical even if its only a low dose. I also take Valporate.

Thanks and take care

Remeron at low doses is good for sleep. I take that and Zyprexa and it works well. Some people take a Benadryl as needed, but I've never tried that. Hope this helps.

Hi. I take Restoral (Temazapam) for sleep. I have been taking it for eight months. I am Bipolar too. I have problems sleeping like you. Nothing worked in the past. I feel I'm taking it too long, but I need sleep. I get 4-6 hours sleep. The doctor says I have to take it because I won't sleep and it is important now. I feel a little dizzy in the morning but I have to take it. If you find something great let me know.
Good- Luck

4-6 hours of sleep is more than enough. I used to take only 3 hours of sleep when I was sleeping ok and thats enough for me. Although right now I get all my sleep on the weekends, so I won't have to worry about sleeping on the other days. The total time of sleeping on the weekends is more than the total if I slept for only 3 hours each day. So i guess I can basically say im getting enough sleep :p

lol... sounds like me...

Weekends and sometimes a EVENING NAP once every 3 weeks plus 4 hours of sleep a night... PERFECT...

Sleep is such a waste of time

I sometimes force myself not to sleep. Especailly before an important test or exam. I just dont want to be completly awake and aware of what im doing, I hate reality altogether. When I have nightmares they are as real as it can possible get. I'd do anything to be halucinating and half asleep right now.

Hi. I use Trazadone (usually 2 tablets) at night and it works well.
