hi, sorry to bug you all with my questions about zoloft, but i was just wondering if any of you know how important it is to take zoloft at EXACTLY the same time each day. like, i know it's important to take at the same time, and i used to take it at night, but it was keeping me awake, so i've started taking it when i wake up. only problem is, i am a graduate student who also works in retail, and my schedule varies day-to-day, so some days i might be up a couple hours earlier than others. do you think this would be a problem? thursday will mark two weeks on it, and i'm still really not feeling better (though I thought I was improving during the first few days, oddly enough...) so i don't know, any thoughts? is it really important to take it like clockwork? thanks for your help!

A couple of hours difference shouldn't matter at all. I quite often sleep later on the weekends and don't have any problem with taking it then.

I had the exact same thing happen to me when i started zoloft .I started out on 25 mg's for 1 week Then week 2 went up to 50 mg's..The first few days were like takin speed{sorry thats how it was}{Happy Happy}Then i crashed for 2 days.I was asking if it was working a placebo effect on me,LOL.Maybe I just thought i felt better...Aftert being downright sad for 2 days i woke up on day 3 and just snappped out of it..thats the best way i can desrcibe it!!! I think thats why most people arent on the 25 mg dose ..It isnt strong enough to keep you goin all week.I too felt as you do in week 2 and by week 3 .I was being asked ..What did you take today to make you run around so fast and talk so fast.LOL...I say just zoloft.Thats all i am taking..No Ginsing no speed just my ZOLOFT>LOL.It will get better you'l see just gotta give time time...I am also taking trazodone for sleep and have actually not been wakin up 8- 10 times a night!!!!! I am gion through surgically induced menopause as of 4 months ago..These meds have helped me tremendously.I have never taken antidepressants before and wish now that i would have,LOL.Dont get me wrong its not all glamorous but is better than before and the side affects i can live with ...for now!!!I generally work an odd schedule as well{i work in a diner}.I think it is probably best to keep a leveled amount in the body but varying occasionally wont hurt..If you notice a difference in yourself then certainly make sure your on schedule... Otherwise i personally do the same thing and see no harm!!! Hang in there..it gets better...If not feelin better by your next doc visit then you may need to switch..ask the doc..Sendin happy vibes your way

SP68,
thanks a bunch for your reply! it's really comforting to know that someone went through something similar to me... my doctor told me right away to be patient, and that i might not feel better for at least a month, but i guess those few early days of crack-like rapture spoiled me, haha. well it wasn't THAT extreme, but i definitely felt strangely relaxed. and then suddenly, i was down again. today, i feel somewhat better, knock on wood, but it might just because i'm not snowed in for the first day this week. i guess we'll see. it would be so wonderful to wake up feeling good. but, at any rate, i'm glad to know there's still hope for me! thanks for writing!

I am not just relying on a magic pil...I believe i need to change my thought pattern. The definition of insanity as described to me by AA members.{ i went for 2 yrs a few yrs back}.Insanity: Doing the same things and expecting different results!!!!
