Ive posted this also in Neuro Muscular but to be honest I havent a clue where it should go.
Ive posted my problem on here before but thought I would leave it to see how it has progress.
Details;
25
Male
Fit and Strong can run a mile in around 7 mins. Muscle strength still seems fine
Healthy diet dont smoke occasionally drink.
Good job with little worry in my life (ie living at home with parents still ;) ).
My main problem is that ive had really strong muscle problems around my face and forehead. It started (18 months ago) with an inflamed feeling around my left cheek bone mainly in the temple area. It has since progressed to my forehead and slightdown my right side of my head. This problem is with me always, although in the mornings it is to a slightly lesser extent of pain. The best way I can describe it is as if the areas effected are being pulled tightly (when I frown its very tight as if my skin has shrunk) So to sum up it is a tight muscle pain around the forehead down to the cheekbones.
Things that can effect it are things like Phones (mobile or landlines) after about 5mins on one my skin around my head feels real tight like when you sit infront of a fire to long. When I run this also effects the tightness.
Other small symtons that ive noticed over the course of the past 18 months is minor speech problems, which maybe down to nerves as I feel anxiety and stress a little bit more now but mainly probably worrying over my symptoms. I also feel my left side is a little sleepy as in my left arm somehow feel unattached to my brain (if you can make sense ofthat weel done). My left leg is also swimmy but no strength loss on either as I would of noticed down the gym.
The course of action I have undertook during this time is about 7 visits to my GP and 1 visit to the Neurosurgeon about 6 months ago. The Neuro came back fine and if I were to take the same tests tomorrow (basically the physically & coordination stuff) I feel I would pass no problem. My doctor (probably sick of the sight of me) feels its all stress induced & put me on Prozac (to treat OCD) 10 months ago. This course lasted 5 months with the doseage being upped monthly to no effect apart from the effects of Prozac. I then decided to pull myself off it as it was not making an ounce of difference to my problems.
Although these symtoms do not stop me physically or mentally in doing anything, as you can imagine after 18 months you want to know whats wrong and how to treat the problem. I know most will say go back to your GP which I will probably have to end up doing but I just wanted to try a different route because of the lack of sucsess so far.
Many thanks for your time
Luke :)
