I used to lay in the tanning bed. Just to get a base tan. After aboput 3 days of being in the tanning bed. I will get this feeling like someone is put pins in me in my legs. Last year the first day I want in I had that feeling all over. Is this normal or does it happen in people with MS?
Also does anyone have this. In my back there is spots that hurt. They are not black & blue. Some are on my spine and some are right beside my spine. They are very sore to touch? Does anyone know what this could be?
Thanks everyone.

I would like to know the same thing. I have numerous symptons of MS but not diagnosed yet and I have one spot on my spine that has excruiating pain sometimes. I went to the chiropractor and it still hurts in the same spot. I didn't know if it had anything to do with all the other symptons or not.

Hi Kenzie --
Those with MS often have difficulty with heat. The neuron receptors just don't work as well...or more so, sometimes work overtime with MS people than those who don't have MS. Heat can overload the already compromised body system and send MS people into a flare. I would suggest that you use self tanning lotions in the future and avoid exposure to intense heat as much as possible.
As far as the back/spine pain...you should talk to your Dr. and have him/her evaluate what, where this symptom is coming from. I know that some MSers do have pain problems depending on the region of the brain or spine that active lesions may occur, but it may or may not be related to MS. Might be something else, but you should check it out with your medical professional. May be something that's not a biggie and could be helped with meds or PT.
Good luck and God bless, Sherry :-)
