Hello, Just wanted to share what i read on First magazine.
IF you want to get it it's the Feb one .. Kelly Rippa's on the cover. I read Calcium pills stop cravings so I started to take them.. and omg it works. I got the Spring valley one from walmart..
It says here 1200mg helps not get hungry.
Our body can only absorb 600mg of it at a time so it's best to take it not at once.
taking 1200mg of Cacium Supplements can make u lose weight! it says if you're taking the calcium supplements and not losing weight, there's 2 things to know. All supplements are not the same. some dissove quickly than others and to see if you have the right one, soak a pill in vingar for 30min. and stir gently. if it doesn't dissovle complety it's time to swich. the ones that pass the test are.. it says here the walmart brand.. sping valley natural calcium 600+vitamin D and ZInc.
and also CVS's Calcium600+ D
I got the reg spring Valley 600mg. Let me say after i take it it makes me full!
I never known this.
Also it helps
71% reductionn in the risk of insulin resistance syndrome( pre diabetes)
54% Decrease in PMS symptoms, also bloat, Food cravings, mood swings amd migraines.
35% Ruduction in risk of osteoprosis!
This magazine had TONS of info about the kind of food u should eat if you're bloaty and all.

Thanks for the info - I saw that magazine when I was in the checkout line and have been wondering what would stop cravings. I've got a bottle of calcium pills and I'll be taking them religiously.

If out of any of those vitamin/minerals, Zinc is probably the only one doing anything to help control your weight. Calcium is not an appetite suppressant. However, calcium intake of 1,300mg a day for postmenopausal woman is recommended to prevent osteoporosis. Calcium helps strengthen the bone-forming cells(osteoblasts) so that the bone-eating cells(osteoclasts) are prevented of ever being created.

Hi... i just stated them and I didn't lose any weight yet. Some times I forget to take them.
I started to take reg Vitamins and that has 200mg of Calcium so I'm going to only taking 600mg. I don't know about others but it made me feel full. U know when u go to a new Dr's office for the first time and they ask u what meds you're taking? So I wrote that down, and he said I'm still young( I'm 30) to think about taking them But I Never said why I was taking them ..lol he said I don't have to worry about Calcium much.
But yeah I'm going to try one pill aday.
U can get the magazine and read it through.. I just thuoght it some info I can give out.

Hey, I saw the same article in First, and I started taking 1200mg a day two days ago (Spring Valley from W-M, 600mg + D). I am the biggest skeptic of them all, but I figured Calcium couldn't hurt, so why not try it. Well I must say it does help the hunger cravings. I haven't lost any weight yet, but I sure feel better. Just thought I'd share that with ya'll.

As far as I know, just take two a day, but at different times (one in the morning, one in the evening, or whenever is convenient) As long as you get between 1200 and 1500mgs a day, per First Magazine. Your body can only absorb 600mgs at a time. The dissolve in vinager method is just a test to see if the Calcium Supplement is a good one. Hope this helps! :D

I've been taking Calcium supplements for a couple years now and while I do strongly encourage people taking them for the health benifits I've never noticed them having any impact on my cravings or hunger. Nor would I give them any more credit to weight loss then I would my multivitiman. They are great for nutritional value (especially for women) but I think it saying the suppress apetite isn't true. Or at least that's been my experience.

Hi All,
I have read several recent articles about the fatloss benefits of dairy/calcium in the diet. I thought they said that the benefits were greater when consuming the dairy rather than taking a supplement, but my memory could be failing me. ;)
I already have several servings of dairy each day, so I don't take supplements. I'm eager to hear how everyone does. Keep posting.

My mom just started taking the Wal Mart brand and she did loose 2 pounds the first week. I'm not sure if we can say it was the calcium, but either way it's was a good motivator. And I drink coffee which is bad because it leeches calcium out of the body and I don't get enough to begin with, so I'm going to start taking them for the sake of being healthy. And if I loose weight I'll consider it a bonus.

The artical in the magazine said to take 600mg at a time with your meal. I am going to reread it to make sure but I am almost sure that is what it said.

I've been taking calcium for a while. Not for weightloss purposed. I just wasn't getting much calcium. I take it at night before I sleep. It helps me relax for some reason. Also, I've noticed that when I workout, and I'm soar, if I take it that night, I won't that soar in the morning.
