Until my vacation in Aruba...

I'm going in full mode pannic because I'd like to get off fat before this trip. UGH what's one to do.

I'd like to try and follow Atkins fully, but I just bought alot of Yogurt to eat for a snack at work before heading to curves. Everything else I have is ok... So how bad is Yogurt on Atkins?? The one I bought has 90 cal, 0 fat, 16 G carbs, and 12 G Sugar. (OK the carbs are high, but that was what I as able to afford)

I also drink the ACV drink 3x a day, as well as my own homemade salad dressing made with the ACV.

Presently my diet goes like this...

Breakfast:
2 egg whites
1 6 net carb low carb bagel OR 1 sl of a 6 net carb low carb bread (Sometimes I don't even have the bread)
Butter or cream cheese
1 cup decaf coffee
The ACV drink

Lunch:
1 bowl of salad, usually topped with either Tuna Salad, Egg White Salad (I use Grape Seed oil Mayo in place of regular Mayo), or my ACV dressing. If I don't add the tuna or egg I have 1/2 cup of Beans.

Snack: (usually an hour before I leave work)
1 Yougart, or 1 oz cheese, or Cantelope

Dinner:
It varies depending on my mood. I might eat Atlantic Salmon, Flounder, A Boca Burger, Vegi Soup...

My weekends are bad because I go by my Boyfriends and well I eat what I get there..LOL..

I would cut out the yogurt for quicker weight loss. The fastest way I ever lost weight was on Atkins. I lost about 5 pounds in a week. I had eggs for breakfast, lunch meat, cheese and pickle for lunch, and chicken and salad for dinner. Tons of water. Not the way I eat now..it was just a quick fix for an occasion. Exercise as well.

The calories look pretty (too) low there. That combined with a lack of carbs are likely to make for a vengeful return of weight when you go on vacation and start eating like most people eat on vacation.

Yogurt's not very Atkins friendly.

Set calories at 10 x bodyweight. Avoid all dairy. Eat meat, eggs, butter, oils, and green veggies. Supplement with brazil nuts or almonds. Do cardio every day for 45 minutes (preferably in the morning) and you will easily lose 10-20 pounds. Additionally you should be drinking 1/2 ounce of water for every pound of body weight.

well, yogurt might not fit with atkins... but if you decide to forgo atkins, stick with the yogurt. studies are showing that calcium aids weight loss.:)

In addition to the obvious health benefits of calcium.

Thanks for the advice all...

I'm thinking of doing the Atkins Induction for the 2 weeks just to jump start and then fiddle with it after two weeks to make adjustments. I reviewed it and it's not much different then what I eat now.. The only two things I need to stop eating is the breads and pastas. Beans I can hold off on for the two weeks, that's not a problem.

I also got two bottles of Diet Rite which is Atkins Friendly. That'll help me when I need that Soda Kick I look for after work.

I'm not concerned with gaining weight on my vacation. I almost never gain weight while away, I tend to eat less... I normally eat a large breakfast and small lunches and dinners. The hotel also has a gym which I might visit for 30 min each day.

Actual pounds is no longer my concern since Muscle weighs more then fat, and I did gain a few pounds in muscle weight...I want to burn the fat, that's what I'm looking for...I want inches...

DIET RITE has SPLENDA!! Be careful with that. It's just as bad as aspartame. When I had some, it gave me an awful headache! Try some lemon water instead.

The yogurt is really going to mess you up big time.Drop the yogurt.

Beans are great for you...minus pinto beans and they are the RIGHT kind of carbs. They help alot of people lose weight. A serving of beans in place of meat brings the fat way, way down and fills you up. Beans DO NOT cause a spike in insulin so they are almost the perfect food.
I take a can of garbanzos, rinse, throw in a pan with olive oil and spices and roast at 425 degrees for about 35 minutes......it's like eating chips.

Atkins also won't allow the fruit, which is loaded with sugar, so drop that too if you are serious about following an Atkins induction.

This is an older post. The original poster posted this back in Janurary. The 33 days were up long ago.
