When i first got depressed 8 months ago i started smoking again after 10 years of giving up.I smoke about 10 a day and am on remeron at night.
The question is i am now at the end of day 2 of trying to quit cigarettes and feel like ****!
Will the withdrawal from nicotine effect my anti-depressant?
Am i better waiting until hopefully i am off the Remeron.
Since i have been on the remeron and started smoking i have just had one cough and cold after another all through the winter so i thought i would give it a go but am a bit nervous that it could effect the medication and make me relapse.
Anybody else quit while on medication?

Hi there

I have been on anti-d's for 2 years now and in that whole time i have smoked - i gave up for 3 weeks once and felt quite well, just found it hard to keep resisting so started again
I gave up thios year on new years day, but started again, just the usual urges - i really cant see any reason you would find it harder than anyone else not on medication, you may just think that cos we tend to anylise everything. Everyone finds it hard to give up, it is a battle but dont let them beat you.
