Hi everyone

I would love to try atkins diet, but everytime I start it I get bored my daily diet as follows

Breakfast
3 bacon and 2 eggs

Lunch
Chicken and lettuce and mayo.

Dinner
3 bacon and 2 eggs

Could someone tell me if this is correct or is there something I'm doing wrong?
I followed this for 1 week, i eat the same thing everyday but I got tired of it could someone pls suggest another eating pattern, I don't like beef or lamb
Your help would be great

Not eating beef or lamb is going to limit your choices.

But before getting into protein, the initial phase of Atkins allows 20 grams of carbs. It looks like you are not getting that much. Atkins recommends using them to eat as many nutritional dense veggies as possible - like green leafies, broccoli, etc.

Back to other protein sources . . . do you like fish? Canned tuna and salmon are easy. Any fish filet cooks up quickly. Then you have all the shellfish. Ham, various pork sausages (pepperoni, etc.) could provide some variety, but you have to search for brands with no added sugar and Atkins did stress organic, which I take to mean added nitrates would not be good either (with the bacon also). Turkey, in various forms, either plain, deli, turkey sausages, burgers, bacon, etc. Some full-fat dairy products can be used (watch the carb count, though).

It's great to make stir fries too. Use some olive oil, add garlic/ginger/herbs... add some neat and add plenty of low carb veggies.. can add some wheat free soya sauce to taste.

Chessey omlettes are good too.

I love a roast dinner - roast chicken, lamb, beef etc.. add plenty of veges and use the meat juices, mustard, mint sauce, horseradish etc..

If you like fish, it's easy to bake some boned fillets in the oven and then add veg.

You're not getting enough fiber. Eat green veggies or supplement with psyllyum husk.

What about chicken or porkchopsYou can probably lose weight on it but it wont be a plan that you can stick to,cause you will get bored .Im on Atkins and i lost 10pds so far in 6 days and im not craving junk like i used to.I eat 3 eggs in the morning and a piece of low carb toast,at noon i have a chicken or tuna salad or ham and cheese salad.For supper i have meat and salad and veggies. If i havent consumed enough calories i then have a low carb drink for a snack.For dessert i have jello and i drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.The Acme supermarket has alot of low carb stuff now.See if theres one around you.Hope ths helps.

Hello. I can see how you would be bored with your menu. Dont' forget you can have 3-4 ounces of certian cheeses (cheddar, Mozerella, Cream there's more, just can't remember right now) and 2 Tablespoons of Sourcream. Those things for me tend to liven up the meals. Like today for dinner (im on day 7 of induction) I made these Lettuce wraps with bacon, Pork, and a dab of sour cream on top. Oh and in one of them a slice of Tomato, I had already eaten Zucinni at lunch time. I think you will loose weight continuing to eat that way but will definatley be burned out and bored like you have been. Have you checked out the Atkins website at all for ideas? That has helped me tons with variety just because there are recipies and the rules. Well, BEST OF LUCK!

You won't lose much on the diet you're currently on cause it's boring and you're not gonna stick with it.
