View Full Version : tingling sensation genitals

i'm a 27 year old male. slept with a girl a couple months ago, protected sex with a condom but not during oral intercourse. a couple days after experienced a tingling sensation in my genitals (shaft of penis and tip) and tightness in the pelvic region. not painful, just uncomfortable really. same with urination. no pain.

symptoms went away after about a week, then came back a month or so later. stress seems to trigger it now. waiting for blood test results.

so of course i'm very concerned it's herpes, but have not seen sores. can a herpes outbreak simply be tingling and tightness? and if for some reason it's not herpes, what else could this be that reoccurs in such a way? simple anxiety?

also, if it IS an std of some kind, did i necessarily contract it from this girl or can the simple act of sex trigger a dormant std to "come to the surface?"

any info or insight welcome. thanks.

Could be h--some people seem to get a rash and/or nerve pain rather than sores. Yes, you can get it even though wearing a condom--at least, anecdotal evidence on this board points that way. But, also, yes, it can lay dormant for years--sometimes there are people who say they haven't had sex in 20 years, and then boom! they get an ob, which can be triggered by any kind of stress, emotional or physical. I just got a new ob because I wore clothes a little too tight and got--eh--rubbed the wrong way. I could even feel a little chafing during the latter part of the day, but couldn't change clothes! Anyway, hope you feel better, and let us know what your results are. Good luck.
