Sponsor Harry 01-30-2004, 02:44 AM The best I have found are homeopathic remedies-- Aconite, Ferrum Phosphoricum, and Belladona which is the strongest used in homeopathic potencies. You can usually buy them at a health food store. I wish you well---Harry peregrine 01-30-2004, 06:53 AM I was curious if anyone knows any good natural anti-inflammatories. Activated Quercetin (by Enzymatic Therapy), Bromelain and Wobenzym, which I just started using and highly recommend. Howitt44 01-30-2004, 10:28 AM Has anyone had any success using these anti-inflammatories for asthma? peregrine 01-30-2004, 11:04 AM Has anyone had any success using these anti-inflammatories for asthma? For asthma I use Respiratone made by NAP Susannah 01-31-2004, 02:38 AM I highly recommend Bromelain. It gets rid of my headaches as well, but not quite as quickly, as aspirin or Advil. I also recommend Ginger. Susannah Howitt44 01-31-2004, 05:00 PM For asthma I use Respiratone made by NAP Peregrine, Can you tell me a little bit about Respiratone that you use for asthma? I have never heard of it. Also, is it an anti-inflammatory or a bronchodilator? I use a medicine that addresses both of these components of asthma. Thank you. Bob2 01-31-2004, 05:52 PM I was curious if anyone knows any good natural anti-inflammatories. The strongest anti-inflammatory I have found is turmeric standardized to 95% curcumin. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and was limping it bothered me so much. I have been taking standardized turmeric for over 2 years and have not limped in that time. A herbalist I read on the Internet recommends devil's claw. I have not tried it. Dr. Duke, the author of Green Pharmacy, states that some tests have been done that prove that standardized turmeric is as good or better than ibuprofen and it is about half as good as steroids. peregrine 02-01-2004, 08:14 AM Peregrine, Can you tell me a little bit about Respiratone that you use for asthma? Respiratone is a natural product that asists the respiratory system by enhancing healthy immune function. It's main ingredient is N-acetyl cysteine, a potent antioxidant. The brochure states that it significantly improves lung capacity for patients w/chronic bronchitis, asthma and emphysema. It is one of the products made by Dr. D'Adamo ( You could visit his web site) and sold by NAP - NOrth American Pharmacal. Once you find their site you could call their 800 # and obtain further info. I cannot use inhalers as they not only make me feel weird, but sick. All the best! Peregrine O kiki lou 02-01-2004, 12:02 PM Try lyprinol--an extract from the green lipped muscle. My daughter with vaccine damage is using it for gut inflammation, but has virtually cured her eczema and has completely controlled her asthma--previously had 2-3 episodes a week, and is episode-free for 4 weeks now (we've used it 4.5 weeks). Just do a search and you can easily find the info. kiki Howitt44 02-18-2004, 07:41 PM Try lyprinol--an extract from the green lipped muscle. Is it expensive? zip2play 02-19-2004, 11:10 AM Aspirin, Quite natural and used to be gotten from the bark and leaves of certain willows. Interesting history: http://www.chemheritage.org/EducationalServices/pharm/asp/asp180.htm Bob2 02-21-2004, 01:15 PM seeker13 My natural anti-inflammatory of choice is Turmeric standardized to 95% Curcumin. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and was limping a couple of years ago. I'm interested in herbs. I first discovered that ginger capsules have a mild antiinflammatory action. I had a cold and know that ginger is good for a cold so I started taking several capsules per day. By the second day I noticed that my knee stopped bothering me, when I walked. So, I started taking ginger everyday. It worked very well for about 2 months, then I started to limp again. I read my herb books to discover something stronger than ginger and found turmeric standardized to 95% curcumin. I started to take capsules of the turmeric and on the second day I was no longer limping. I have not limped any since. I read about turmeric in a book written by Dr. James Duke, who wrote The Green Pharmacy. I followed his recommendation to take at least 1200 milligrams of curcumin per day. The standardized turmeric I buy has enough curcumin in each capsule so that I need to take 5 capsules per day. That gives me around 1400 milligrams per day. I take 2 in the morning, 1 at lunch, and 2 at dinner.
