View Full Version : I've relapsed for 1 week

I feel I have let you and myself down ... I have been smoking all last week ... I was so stressed, my son has been such a pain in the butt .. I just flipped. I was so angry and I didn't know how to deal with it and the smoking kind of calmed me down.

I have an appointment with the hypnotherapist tomorrow, I've got to get this sorted.

I'm sorry to report the bad news, but 1 cigarette lead me to another and another.. I didn't stop.

To make it even worse, I have had to hide this smoking from my boyfriend (who gave up 1 week b4 me) ... it's been such a strain.

I wanted to tell you all earlier, but I felt so deeply ashamed to let you all down.

I'll report back tomorrow.

Hey Invinc--

You have not let us down. Of course we are sorry to hear this happened, but it does happen. I had a relapse 2 weeks ago. I bought a pack and smoked them up in 2 days. Nobody here got down on me or mad, they were all understanding, because we all know that this does happen. So quit beating yourself up over it and just figure out what you can do about it.

Do you have any patches left? They worked for you before and they can work for you again, Invince. Just finish up the pack you have right now and keep thinking, "this is my last pack forever and as soon as it runs out I'm back on the patch and I'll be fine, I'll be a nonsmoker again". Just pick up where you left off!! And keep posting to this board. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to leave this board yet. I think it helps to know that we have to keep coming back and reporting here. (At least 1 time a week) When your little guy was driving you crazy you should've come here and we might have been able to help you put things in a different perspective. I know how young children stress a mom out, I have 2 kids, they are grown, but boy do I remember how challenging it was at times!! (Even tho they were good kids I could of just skinned their hides sometimes!!!) ;)

So just get yourself back on track Invince, I know you can because I did!!!!

And say prayers, as I will for you too!

Love,
DEDA
Want to hear from you again too... :)

You only let yourself down. Don't worry about us!! I came close to joining you on Saturday. I asked if they had a single cigarette for sale. I was so stressed out. Fortunately he had just sold the last one. This really is a continuous struggle. Even though I feel 100 times better than I did when I smoked. It's just so easy to slip back in to old habits and say "what the heck, one cigarette won't hurt" or "I just really need it right now". Do you feel different since you've been smoking? Did it actually taste good? I know usually cigs taste nasty when you've quit for awhile. Do you think that part of it is the idea that you're doing something you aren't supposed to? Well, jump back on the wagon and welcome!

Ah invinc - poor you - there's your pity party from me and now Laurie smacks Invinc upside da head. LMAO Now you can forgive yourself on start over now that I've smacked you a good one. Feel better now? LOL

I'm 74 days smoke free still and yes I've had tempting days but you have to go back to why it was you wanted to quit so bad. So Invinc - what were all the reasons you wanted to quit so bad? Tell them to us so we can remind you.

On the boards thing - I don't know - I think they're absolutely WONDERFUL in the first few weeks or month, but I do have to wonder if maybe continually discussing smoking after you've beat the nicotine and the habitual part of it - if maybe continuing on isn't hurting???? I'm just wondering.

I know I'm a strong sh** so I just fight any urges I have or debate myself out of them and move on to something else. Whatever works - find it! But I guess what I'm tryin to say Invinc - is figure out what it was that made you give in. Yes you were stressed, but you've been stressed before so what was going thru your head at the time? Did you just miss it? Were you craving? Did you not care about dying? What? Do tell so we can fix you and keep you fixed because even though you had a relapse does not mean you can't hop right back on track. We'll just take the days off that you smoked so you can get back on track. I don't care what anyone says about starting over - it's hard enough as it is let alone to not give you the smoke free days you've had so if you smoked for 7 days and were at 90 days then now you'll be at 83 since you'll be quitting any day now right?

#1 PICK A QUIT DATE and stick to it! Do not postpone it and I do feel bad for you that you're hiding it from bf BUT don't think you're foolin anyone because it can be smelled a mile away so you may think you're hiding it but he may know so realize that as well. Just quit again before it affects him as well.

And for guilty:
Now come on now guilty - we all know the first cig or first few puffs are enough to make you puke your guts out but yet the addiction of the whole thing makes you keep smoking and of course you're pumping nicotine (a drug) back into your system so of course the rush or whatever. Don't ask questions you already know the answer to because you're not smoking again so why discuss it. It's over - say your goodbye's and move on from it. Do not give it the time of day to reminisce on how it was, used to be, or how you want it to be, etc....

I know you're playing curious george - but even that is dangerous so Invinc - no need to answer that.

We're here for you so just think about why - explain - how you get back to where you left off and whala - you'll be back to a smoke free female forever. Let's not forget about your vanity reasons as well Invinc - all for nothing???? Come on and get bk on the right wagon :)

We still love ya and so does the little green boy LOL :bouncing:

Deda

Thank you so much for your kind words ... I was feeling so ashamed and guilty.

Yes, you're right, I'm going to finish this pack and that's it... and I'm going to come to this board every day (whenever I can anyway) and post for months on end.

I do now think it was a BIG mistake going it alone, I now realise how important the support from all you guys are.

I should've posted when I'd had my first one, coz I think I could've stopped then... but the guilt made me continue, and then the feelings of being ashamed and self loathing made me continue.

Yes, I have a few patches left, I'll stick one on tomorrow. Maybe I should just go cold turkey? Coz the patches really gave me rashes.

I think I'll go cold turkey, the toughest part is in the mind, not the body. I booked an appointment (i hour) with a hynotherapist who's going to help me with stress release ... hope that helps too.

Thanks again Deda, you are always such an angel! :-)

I'll be here VERY often!!!

Laurie! I was somehow expecting that upside down smack! Ouch, forgotten how strong you were LOL!

That's it, keep smacking some sense into me!!

OK, quit day is tomorrow ... there's no waiting around. I'll take the 7 days off and that'll make it ...... will count tonight and get back to you!

I'll also type all my reasons later, coz I have many!!!!

And I'll answer your questions later too but got to put the kiddies to bed now.

Love ya too laurie!!!

Ah that's right I believe you're 6 hours ahead if my memory serves me right. I went to London two years ago for business so my bedtime clock was all off schedule. LOL

Yes, I can hit like a man. LMAOOTF LOL I'm sure you'll remember for future reference to never do that again. LOL

That's awesome Invinc and we know how strong you are so we're not really worried about you quitting however you choose to do it. I'll be looking forward to hearing your reasons and I'm sure I (and everyone else) share quite a few of them. ;)

I'm just glad you came back out here - be proud of yourself for that Invinc (you too deda) because it's not easy but you know you're doing the right thing and you DEFINITELY came to the right place. :)

Love you too chic :bouncing:

Ah yeah, be careful of LL Invince, I've seen pictures of that very strong bod of hers, I'm sure she could TKO you. LOL!!

Great thinking, you are starting to think again in the nonsmoking mode, WTG!

Good idea Laurie for Invince to post her reasons that she wanted to quit in the first place!! I think that wouldn't be a bad idea for all of us to maybe post our own reasons again, every now and then. When I feel up to it, I'll do that myself. I need to remind myself often as it is. This quitting smoking...it ain't for sissies that for sure!!!

Good luck Invinnie...we're here for ya girl-fien, I mean girlfriend!

Prayers for Invincible tonight everyone!!! May the quitsmoking  come your way soon!!!

Love ya too Invincible!!

I just had my hair cut by a smoker. Boy, I didn't realize how much it stinks until I had this woman hanging over me. I swear I can still smell it. Icky, icky, icky. Just thought I'd add that in here to give you more incentive!

Hey Laurie, to go back and answer your questions!!

The reasons why I wanted to quit on the first place:

**Aids wound healing (I am booked for a series of surgical procedures for all 2004, to rid myself of some old and very deep acne scarring) – smoking basically destroys all the work that the surgeon does and may even make things worse for me.

**Gorgeous, clear skin – looking young and fresh!

**Smell nice!

**Be a good example to my kids, who are at a very impressionable age

**Be proud of myself – if I can do this, I can do anything!

**Good dental health – I am sick of my poor dental records.

**Can mix with others socially without always feeling like a leper in their presence (brushing teeth in cloakrooms knowing I’m going to meet up with non-smokers etc.) – makes me feel like a social outcast, dirty and smelly. I’m embarrassed to be seen smoking.

**I can keep the windows shut in the winter/keep warm (always have the windows wide open to let the air in if I smoke)

**Better breathing/lung capacity

**More time – smoking is such a time waster!

OK, so cancelling the 7 days, I am now going to be 65 days smoke free!

What made me cave in:

I was very stressed, one of my kids has regular temper tantrums and is so damn stubborn (he is a great kid otherwise) .. he's been having a lot of problems with his school work and this had been going on for some time .... it just blew up and we were both in verbal fight mode.. I don't like to hit, but I shouted so much, I was very wound up and eaten up inside... I then missed having cigarettes as a pacifier/dummy ... I rushed out on the pretense of getting some milk.. and there I was smoking a malboro light ... the first one did calm me down becasue it made me dizzy, I felt suddenly pacified and could breathe again... the others tasted disgusting... but I continued to smoke for the week anyway...... and here I am now.

Somehow, I know my blocks are based around missing cigarettes as an emotional comforter/crutch when things are down (I don't drink) ..and I guess I still feel I enjoy the motion of smoking and the inhallation and exhallation of the smoke. Further, it stops me eating excessively (BUT I did not lose any weight for having smoked this week ... so even that excuse doesn't work any more.)

I'm definately giving it all up tomorrow, but I do worry about how I will deal with angry and frustrating situations when they arise again..... well, that's what I'm going to see the hynotherapist tomorrow about anyway, so maybe she can teach me how to de-stress when things get hot.

And Deda .... thanks so much for the prayers, I guess we can all pray for each other right?

Back on track :-)

And would you all like to re-affirm why you gave up?

smartgal

I had too many sinus headaches. I feel much more alert and "in the moment" now. I'm not dropping lit cigarettes in the car on the freeway! My car doesn't stink.

I have to remind myself how much better I feel when I don't smoke. Like I said, I came right to the breaking point and am just lucky they didn't have any single cigs for sale and no one to bum from. By the time I walked out of the store I remembered why I wanted to quit, so it was pure fortune. Just reminding yourself that it really won't make anything better helps. Sometimes taking in slow breaths like you would if you smoked helps, but think about it a "fresh air smoking". Try to distract yourself long enough to think clearly. I think it's that impulse smoking that's really difficult. If there's anyway to just distract yourself for ten or twenty minutes, you might be able to think more clearly. I did buy a hostess cupcake, and it did satisfy my feeling sorry for myself mood.

Yes Invinc - your relapse moment is a hard one for everyone, but I guess the way I've gotten around that one is knowing when you're in a trigger moment.

When my car got the hit n run - I was SOOOOOOOOO UPSET and TICKED at the same time and the very first thing I "would've" done is pick one up instantly. I just sort of panted back and forth and thought about it and then I thought well I'll even be MORE ticked off at myself later if I do smoke. So being mad or upset is just that - smoking doesn't really change anything because WE are the ones that calm ourselves down.

Maybe you can somehow find another substitute - maybe a rubber band or OH OH OH I have this stress ball that I love to squeeze when i'm mad or even just for fun tossin it around. Bottom line as always - DO NOT SMOKE! That's what you have to tell yourself repeatedly at all times.

Reasons I quit:

Vanity:
* wanted to smell nice for once - it's SOOOO nice now when people say "wow - you smell great" I love that.
* didn't want wrinkles from smoking and it makes your skin look horrible - bigger pores, etc...
* stains your teeth
* makes your breath stink along with your hair, clothes, and just YOU
* even wrinkles your hands

Health:
* didn't want to have a hole in my throat one day
* didn't want cancer or emphysema
* didn't want to have missing toes or fingers from circulatory diseases
* was tired of getting short of breath at the top of the stairs at times
* was embarrassed to have to clear my throat all the time
* was tired of having mucous in my throat in the mornings after a shower - granted sinus/allergy helps it but smoking is the main culprit
* wanted my sinus/allergy to clear up
* wanted to quit way ahead of time before I settled down and had kids so it wouldn't be adding misery to my life at an already hormonal time. LOL
Energy:
* wanted to increase my energy and cardio vascular
* wanted to one day jog again and not feel like I was going to have a heart attack

Socializing:
* tired of having cigs as my crutch - it was becoming embarrassing to be such an addict
* you deprive yourself of so many things - the movies, the mall or wherever you can't smoke
* excusing yourself all the time to go and have one or killin people around you
* men absolutely hate it
* everyone hates it anymore unless they smoke and people are quittin left and right now

Savings:
* tired of spending almost a $1000 per year to kill myself

So now I'll just get a massage, facial or whatever to pamper myself :)

Overall:
Didn't want to die a painful death, stink, and be a slave to anything. I'm with you too Invinc - tired of freezing outside. LOL

Have a great night :)

Laurie

Well, my last smoke was over 4 hours ago.

I declare ... I am a NON-smoker, and I am proud of it!!!

I feel better already, you know, I have had a sore throat for the past 2 days, I was feeling tired and groggy ... that's what smoking does to you after 1 week.

OK ... Invinc is back!!! :-)

Thanks Deda!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Yes, I decided to go CT ... the weird thing is, it's been around 8 hours, and I haven't had any withdrawel symptoms at all ... the htpnotherapist I saw today was lovely ... she helped a lot to teach me how to de-stress... and she gave me a tape too ........... she said that often if you are not stressed, you don't get withdrawl sympromms ... I think she definately helped today!!

OK, I've played with fire ... I'm not taking any more risks ... thank GOD for this board!

I do have a sore throat, feels like I may be coming down with a cold ... we'll see (may not be a bad thing... as a cold is a sign that I am ready to expel toxins from my body).

How you doing Deda?

02-03-2004, 06:07 PM
My God Invincible, that is awesome! Makes me think right now that I too need to try to work harder on de-stressing myself. I'm not going to lie, there are still times that I want to jump in my car and run down to the store around the corner and pick up a pack, but I haven't. My problem with stress has been my health issues, I 've been so sick with my thyroid. But the good news is that since last Friday, I've been gradually feeling better everyday now, to where today, I'm feeling pretty darn good. So I had been staying home a lot and feeling depressed and just awful. Of course that wasn't helping with my quit whatsoever as I was bored and worrying alot too. Now that I'm feeling well I feel like getting out and living life again and actually feel like heading down to the mall or something. I think I will go to one of the bookstores and get me a relaxation tape. I had bought one years ago when I quit, I mean like 13 years ago, but I gave it away to my brother when he quit. I DO remember that it worked very well to relax me, to the point that I fell asleep everytime I used it. Sounds good to me now! So, hearing you say this makes me want to try it again. That is so wonderful that it's been 8 hours w/o feeling withdrawl symptoms!! You sound so happy! I think it was such a letdown to you to be smoking again that you are doing so great right now, because you really want to be smoke-free. Way to go Invincible!! Your setback and comeback (I'm sure) will in the long run be an inspiration to those that read it, and could help others that have relapsed too!!! I'm happy for you!

Have a good night's sleep and take good care of yourself!! (When your little guys get ya crazy next time, run to your computer and yell for us, okay?)

Love,
DEDA

YOU GO INVINC :bouncing: Yes - I believe there's def. some truth in that not craving if you're not stressin. The important thing is to know that you don't want to go back there. It's just not worth it.

I was looking around my top lip and I have a few smokers lines (I know that's what it's from) that I'd like to get rid of. I can't take back the years I've smoked but I can go forward not smoking and try to get rid of the damage I've done.

Keep posting as often as you'd like and stay strong Invinc :) Proud of ya - but not surprised - knew you could do it :)

Thanks Deda!!!! Thanks Laurie!!!

You two are totally awesome!! I'm so proud to know you both, you never cease to amaze me with your kindness, wisdom and generosity of spirit. Thank you for being here!!

You know, It's been over 26 hours, and not a single withdrawel ... cold turkey .... how cool is that?!! Today, I feel even stronger about NEVER, EVER, giving in to this nicotene filth again ... so no worth it!!!

Yes Deda ... go get some relaxation tapes, my hypnotherapist told me that Paul McKenna has got some very good quiality ones out there .. definately worth looking at. I'm going to do relaxation stuff for 20 minutes twice a day ... just staying calm helps so much ... really sounds like you could use that help with the stress of your health problems.

I've decided to really go for it with my health! I've been reading about doing my own liver and gallstone flushes .. people on other boards have reported much success at feeling more energetic, clearer skin etc... I want to do it .. amd going to investigate that.

Laurie, just that 1 week of smoking made my skin falre up - a couple of new pimples ... and flaking ... horrible. Can't believe how disgusting it all is!!!

Have a great, stress free day everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Not surprised at all Invinc because you see..... I'm in pretty good with the man upstairs and he sorta owed me a favor so you see...uh... I put in one helluva good word for you so your life would be easy. See it's done now. LOL HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA

Yes, I think the meditation thing is soooo great. Oh and invinc - which boards did you go to for the flushes - maybe I'll do one if it's something easy (you know like eating a chocolate exlax or something LOL ....oh for those of you that don't know me - no I don't eat them it was a joke although I have tried one once when I was 20 LOL).

I went to the gym the past two nights and had hoagies for lunch and turkey sandwiches for dinner with fruit and some chocolates. LOL Yes I lost 2 lbs. with working out and eating healthier. I also cut out soda totally and tried to increase my water intake. :) Not too shabby for a few days eh? Now.............the plan is to try and earn another favor for upstairs so this lb. shedding can continue so quickly. LMAO I know fat chance literally huh? LOL

Me and my boy here say Ciao for now :bouncing: <my boy for the newbies lol

Well Laurie - I have no doubt you are 'In' with the big man in the clouds ... I can tell hahehehehahahaha ... thank you for putting in words for me ... now I owe you a great favour ... :-)

I don't think I can go tell you about other boards here (I'll get banned right?) but they are not connected to the heathboards ... they are more do do with acne/skin problems (since I am working on my scars from old acne)..

Anyway, one of the posters was saying that after doing a liver/gallbladder flush, not only their skin improved, but they had so much more energy etc... I read some info about it ... it's a bit gruesome but actually isn't painful ... and you need to take some herbs for a month (which crushes your gallstones inside you) ... then you take some mad concoction of olive oil, lemon juice and epsom slats for a night ... then you get all flushed out LOL!!!!

I'm going to reserach it more, but I'm going to do it soon i think.

If you can ... do a search for sites like ******** and sensiblehealth ... both those sites say it all!!!

Thanks Laurie ... you are such a star!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to go to my royally fun ANNUAL today to see the doc. FUN FUN FUN NOT

Holler at ya later and I don't know about all that Invinc - if I can't take a pill or rub some cream on me - I don't think it'll go down into my weak stomach. LOL Thx though I'll look into that :)

Hi Invince and Laurie- -

Haven't been around the boards much lately but wanted to say hi to you both. Boy, there's a million people on the boards tonight!!! Guess Invince is counting sheep but didn't seen LL29 on there. Hey Laurie, did you change your board name? Last time I saw your name on the users list, it was like this...LL29+. Never noticed the + sign there before, and wondered if it was you or another new poster. So how is Laurie doing? Did you get that Yasmin worked out yet girl? Hope it's all running smooth again for ya. So glad you are still around helping everyone out like you do...go Laurie!

Invince, thanks for the relaxation tapes recommend. I will look that up on a search. How many x a day do you play those tapes? Do they put you to sleep? When I used one a long time ago, it did that to me. It felt so awesome tho to be so relaxed.
You sound like you are doing really good this time. It probably wasn't that hard to quit this time, as you had only been smoking for 1 week. I'm glad to hear that you haven't gone through withdrawl hell! You know how that is..

Keep going good you chix and I'll come back here later. Been busy the past couple of days, still feeling pretty good too. Yippie :blob_fire Trying to play catch up on my life. Getting pedicure and haircut tomorrow. A million things to do....

Love,

Hey Deda

I find just listening to a relaxtaion tape once a day helps a lot ... it's best to find a time when you wouldn't normally fall asleep ... maybe mid morning ... alternatively, if you do find it difficult to sleep, you could use one to help you sleep.

Ultimately, the relaxation tapes should just take you through relaxing each and every part of your body (different people seem to hold tension in different parts) ...so that your body can flop and you can breathe deeply.

Alternatively, you could get a hypnosois/relaxation tape combined and they will include suggestions for transformation ... perhaps ones to deal with self-esteem, motivation etc .... I'm going to see of I can get one about loosing weight Deda ... if I can get results, I'll tell ya about it ... I think everyone on this board has weight concerns .... still, I am VERY pleased to be a non-smoker..
:-) :-) :-)

Seriously Deda, that hypnotist lady I saw, I really think she must have done something to me (good stuff) in that hour I saw her ... I have had no withdrawal symptoms at all .... do you not find that a little strange? I'm not complaining though!

She gave me a tape that I am meant to listen to everyday, which re-inforces the no-smoking message ... it only lasts 25 minutes but is very, very relaxing ...

Have a great day Deda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deda
02-06-2004, 03:54 AM
Thank you Invince for all that info about the tapes/hypno. That's awesome. It sounds like she must be pretty good at what she does.

YES, I think it's really strange that you are not having any withdrawls. Very strange, as everybody gets them. What did she do to you Invince? Maybe she preformed a little brain transplant while she had you under hypnosis! LOL Really weird....but be grateful!!! That's fantastic girl! If this keeps up, it should be documented in a medical journal or something....dang! :::scratchinghead:::  I think it was a strong, strong desire on your part too tho. You were pretty upset about the relapse and all.
Well, let's hope it lasts Invince, cuz that's great. And I don't think many people relapse for a week and then quit again that soon. Most would take months, if not years....

Love,
DEDA

Deda

I've just been on Amazon and they have some very very good feedback for all the Paul Mckenna CDs/videos on all his hypnosis tapes .... I mean, 5 people wrote comments on his stop-smoking CDs and said they have ALL managed to give up smoking ... without withdrawal!!! Now, my hypnotherapist was trained by Paul Mckenna.

There are some other great looking CDs on there too, not expensive either ... I've just paid for the easy weight loss CD ... can't wait to get it, great feedback! Everyone lost weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're right Deda ... for most, I think a 1 week relapse would've meant a struggle to give up again .. I was upset about the relapse, but now, it seems that I am more motivated than ever before ... I don't even have the thoughts of 'I miss it' ... whcih is what ran through my mind a lot in my initial 2 month quit.

She definately implanted some suggestions into my pea-sized brain! I am stronger than ever.

I'll let you know how I get on when I get the CD ... and hope you take a look at those CDs on Amazon and see if anything stands out for you.

Wow, that's good news Invince, THANKS. I'm going to bed right now, but tomorrow I will go to Amazon and check out those reviews on McKenna's tapes for sure. How bout that weight loss tape that you ordered...is it by him as well? I need something to reprogram my brain. Some good sumliminal messages that say..."don't eat...you are full..you already ate...you're full..don't eat". LOL! OMG...what is it about quitting smoking THAT WE HAVE TO MUNCH OUT 24/7???!!!! HELLO? It's only been 4 and almost 4 and 1/2 months now!! Getting ridiculous. (OINK) When does this stop? Wanna know, wanna know right now!!!?? LOL!!!

I'm ready to stick duct tape on my mouth for Gosh sakes!

Thanks Invince! ;)

Ha ha DEDA!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're one funny lady! Sometimes I wish you, me and Laurie (and others) could have a regula coffee morning ... it would be so much fun! .........

You could make the coffees..

Then we'd have Laurie take us through some gym moves (pumping iron he he!!)

The I'd play one of those hypnosis tapes and we'd all come round 5lbs lighter and full of smiles .....

................

Yes, the weight loss CD is by Paul McKenna too ... hopefully I will get that in the next couple of days. He's got an Americanish type accent, so he won't sound too Briish for you! I can't wait to get it!!!! I want to be thin.

Sleep tight!

(P.S. I am 77 days into it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay!!!)

Deda

77 DAYS for Invince now, yaaayyyyy! Right on!

Yeah, wouldn't that be awesome if we could all meet for "coffee"? But I could just see us now Invince, we'd be like, "Hmmmm, think I'll have a little danish to go with that...or maybe some pie"...hmmm. We would probably turn it into a binge, a real food fest-eating contest! heehee...

Okay, thanks for the info. Will check Amazon later today. Have to get ready now to go get my pedi and haircut, then run a bunch of other errands after that.

See ya later today...

No No Deda! .... I wouldn't let you have any Danish's ... I would let you listen to my hypnotic weight loss CD and you'd be begging for carrott and celery sticks ... 2 litres of straight water, you'd go for 10 mile walks .... and the coffee would be decaf and black ....

^^ That's the dream anyway! LOL!!!

Back to reality .... I ate 3 danish cinnamon whirls yesterday (they had a buy 2, get another 1 free offer) ... naughty, naughty ... but Hmmmm yummy nice!!!

Where's Laurie to slap me?

I might not be around much Saturday/Sunday ... my boyfriend wants us to go on day trips ... more food adventures he he.... which will obviously stop the minute I get my weight loss CD!!! :-)

Deda

ROTFLMAO!!! Invincible, you are so crazy and funny girl! 3 Whirls!!?? OMG, sounds good, but Invince.....bad girl! Yeah, Laurie needs to get over here and slap Invince into shape! Come on Laurie!!! Guess it's good too know I'm not the only one eating like a vulture at times...hehehe.

Okay, really gotta run now...

Ciao..

Ah.............yeah ladies - WAKE UP - it's your local drill sgt here to smack ya a good one because NO I WOULD NOT let either of you have a danish in the mornings with our coffee. Well maybe once per month - give ya somethin to look forward to..............if you followed the plan right. LOL If not, then you'd be on punishment and would forfeit your danish til the next month. LOL

Yes I&D - let me know how those tapes are and I think I'll ck out a relaxation tape. Remember - on Oprah that meditation guy said even if only 5 min. per day you should stop and take peace time out for you and I really do believe that helps your well being and to ensure you take care of you.

I did hit the gym today too for 30 min on the treadmill - wasn't really with it but glad I at least went in even if it wasn't much.

How's the exercise going ladies? GET WITH IT - I'll be back to ck on ya later.

Laurie and bb :bouncing: bb is for bouncin boy LMAO

Hey Deda and Laurie! It's 6.30 in the morning .. I'm just about to put my Paul Mckenna, weight loss CD on (it came!!) and hopefully it's hypnotic suggestions .... do not eat/do not stuff your fat face .... do exercise/do eat salad etc... infiltrate me soon!!

Can't remember if I told you both but my boyfriend bought me a new bicycle .. but the weather has been very bad, will go out on it when the winds go down, but I see that will be great exercise for me.

And yes, all relaxation is great for the mind/body ... and prayer is also a good form of relaxation.

Had a great day out with my boyfriend and kids yeaterday, we drove o Wales (west of England) and went to visit different castle ruins.

Gonna put my CD on!

Have a great day my gal pals!! :-)

Hi Deda :) How was your treadmill? :)

I'm doing well thanks - 80 days smoke free and counting :) I went to the gym 4 times this week - just have to keep it up and I've maintained my two lbs. loss for the week. My goal is one lb. per week so I have to make sure I maintain the loss or lose more. :)

Not much else new here - just working and the gym. I have watched a lot of movies lately.

I'm tryin to get motivated to go thru each of my rooms and get rid of old junk/clothes, etc.. and donate to good will. They say you should get rid of anything you haven't worn in 2 yrs. but I'm such the pack rat and think "oh the style will come bk one day" LOL

Ta ta,

Laurie

80 DAYS smoke free!!!! Yaaayyyy Laurie!!!! Time goes fast doesn't it? Never thought we'd make it this far when we first got here! YaY!

Funny you should mention cleaning closets....just today as I was getting in mine I was thinking the same thing. My life we be so much easier if I de-cluttered my house, and then maybe it would be easier to find what I'm looking for. But I'm like you, hate to throw things out. And yes, styles DO have their way of coming back, that's for sure. I'm also bad with magazines and books. I keep my books but DH thinks that if you already read them that you should give them away or toss them out. Makes me mad that he would even suggest such a thing! And magazines, well, I just subscribe to too many. I'm just gonna cut back and limit myself to 2 or 3. I can read anything I want on this here computer anyways!! LOL

Great going on the work outs Laurie, you're doing good girlfriend. Yes, still doing my treadmill and added working out w/ 5lb weights. Gotta get these arms lookin good so I can go sleeveless this summer!

Well gotta go, NBA time! :D
Keep up the good work there Laurie!!!

DEDA :blob_fire working out!!!!

LOL Thx Deda and you know DH is right - should prob. give them away huh? LOL I'm just as bad so I can relate.

I am going to try and get rid of stuff though - it's pathetic I have illions of stuff and it's laying around still.

Well - time to get rid of some junk so I'll holler later :)

PS: Keep up the good work Deda!

The weight loss CD seems pretty good -- I keep falling asleep with it on but it does say it doesn't matter .... very relaxing though ... and I do feel kind of more motivated to get rid of the pounds ...

The sun is shining and I'm going out on my bike now! C Ya later girlies!

Good deal with the tapes knockng ya out, I mean, how much more relaxed can you get than that? I'm going to go order mine right now. I always mean to, but have a hard time getting away from these boards!!

OK Deda *snore...* LOL!!!

I was out for 20 minutes on my bike (and managed to scare many drivers with my wobbly moves!) - it was freezing arghhhhh ...

I really think that weight loss CD is working/helping ... I have felt so much more active (cleaned the pond/tidied the garden today) and haven't felt like snacking on rubbinsh ... I'm going to play it every morning .. and not bother thinking about dieting but just see if it helps by reducing appetite and makes me more energetic.

Have you bought one Deda?

Deda
02-09-2004, 02:50 PM
Hey Invince...did your little bike ride huh? Good for you and just keep on doing it. Bike riding is great for your body! I used to ride a lot when my daughter lived here, and then she moved outta state. I'm the type I hate doing things like that by myself, but guess I'm going to have to, as all of my galfriends are working.

Hey...about the tapes..I went to Ama. but couldn't find his tapes. (Paul Mckenna, right?) Having a hard time even bringing up "relaxation tapes/cd's for dieting/quitting smoking". What titles should I use? I'll try again after I hear from you. I thought I'd also phone the 3 big bookstores that are here and see what they have, as that's where I bought that one many years ago. I thought when I find them, I'm going to go out and purchase a clock radio/cd player, so when we go to bed at night we can play to fall asleep to...try to let those good messages sink in before going to sleep, (might help out the next day, ya know?) Sounds like you're doing just fine there Invince, WTG.

Hi Deda - it was fun on the bike but I know what you mean, I would prefer to go with someone else too.

Maybe the Paul Mckenna CDs are only available from the UK it seems ... do a google search for paul mckenna ... and it does bring up his site and look under products ... I guess you might have to contat them re-shipping ... but I'm feeling really good right now! (Or is it coz it's full moon? Growwlllllll howwwwwlllllllll LOL!)

Yeah I had a piece of white cake w/ choc icing, but I did hit the gym. :) ;)

Look at you Invinc..........biker girl. LOL Yeah shame on you scarin all the drivers - you know how narrow the roads are over there - you have to be a skilled driver as it is let alone see Invinc wobblin all over. LMAOOTF HAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHA :bouncing:

I'm with ya Deda on the buddy system. But I'm maintainin at the gym - went 4 times last week and hope to do the same this week. One down 3 or 4 to go. Five times would be nice, but I do have to let my body rest a bit to recover.

I'm watching My big fat obnoxious fiance. LMAOOTF twice. Too funny!

Yes - Invinc keep us posted on the cd because I think I might order it as well. I would say it's workin biker girl wouldn't you? LOL

Hey Laurie--SEND ME a piece of that cake!!!! Well I guess with all that time you put in at the gym you deserve a ;itt;e reward! I let ya get away with it this time, but just this one time girl!!

LOL to you both!!

But yes, I do believe the CD is working - I feel less bothered about what I am eating - just eating what I want but only when I'm hungry ... also, I feel more motivated to get up and do stuff ... It's too wet to go on the bike today but I have done an hour of stretch/tai chi/yoga this morning ...

Sop ... go buy some of these CDs, they're so motivational!!

You see, normally I would say ... NO! Stay away from the cake (since normally I can't just eat ONLY 1 slice) - but I feel that I could just have 1 and not continue .. so that's a good thing!

Deda

That's a great thing Invince!! I have the same problem when it come to sweets like cakes, cookies, brownies, etc. So I don't even keep things like that here at home. I'm also the same way with potato chips! But evey now and then I crave a candy bar or something, and I will go to the store and pick up just 1. That way I can't make a piggie of myself.

That's wonderful Invince that the tapes are working so well for you. Hopefully I'll get mine today.

Have a nice day Invince! :)

Yes I really do think I'm going to get that cd because motivation is a big thing with me. Right now I force myself to but I'd rather be motivated. If it weren't for the fine men at the gym I'd prob. never go. LOL

Actually, I am really pleased with the CDs .... I must tell you as well, Paul Mckenna recently released a new book. It's called "Change Your Life In 7 Days" - it comes with a free Motivational CD (it's not for weight loss specifically, but is done in such a way that it makes you want to be the best you can be in anything..... so if your mind is on weight loss, then it will definately help with that).

Anyway, this book - I'm meant to read a chapter a day and listen to this CD (30 minutes long) twice a day .. I haven't had time to go through the book as quickly as recommended but just listening to this CD has definately opened me up creatively and given me many insights into a new business venture..

Although I am listeing to this weight loss CD every day, I am definately not going to concentrate on my weight/diet ... the way I look at it is that I will eventually become NOT interested in food ... by making it a less important part of my life, I will eventaully go to my ideal weight.

Have a great, relaxed, positive, fun, loving, smoke-free day!
May every blessing you need be yours, may everyone you meet bring a special gift to you, may the sun shine in your heart even if it snows outside.

Love you guys!!!!!!!! :-)

EEEWWWW....I like that wish to get gifts from everyone I meet Invince!!! :blob_fire
Can't wait till Valentine's day to see what I get!! hehe

Sounds like a good book. You sure are getting into this arn't you girl? Well I say whatever works for ya, and it seems to be working for you, that's for sure. YAY!! And I think that you are right Invince, that this compulsion to eat a lot, (my problem is only at night, as I'm fine all day till about 7 PM) will escape us later on. It will be like working in a donut shop, we'll just get sick of it, I think! (I hope!) I think the more we worry about it, well that just causes more stress, and we sure don't need that, do we?

Em, about the cake Invince, (Laurie and me), we were just joking Invincy! I know you are not a glutten when you eat...hehe. In fact I picture you with this beautiful body, ( ala J_LO) pushing away the treats as they come your way!! This thought inspires me!!!! :D

To you and all of us, I wish a beautiful, joyous, smoke free day as well!!!!!!!

Love ya,

Well let's be truthful Deda - the OLD Invinc woulda did that cake in. LOL I'll tell ya - the gym or working out (by the way guilty wherever you are - be happy I paid $528 per year - didn't they get free money last year LOL) really does make my appetite go WAY down. I'm not going to jinx myself so I'll just wait until I hit a dinky lil milestone and then tell ya. LOL

Yes invinc - I'm gonna call Barnes & Noble (they're around the corner) and see if they have it. I love motivational things. :)

The cake is now gone :blob_fire so no more worries about that - now the bag of snickers - I'm sorta with you guys there where food isn't so important anymore. Strange - it's either my prayers (well they always help) or the working out. I'm sure it's both for sure. :)

Night ladies :)

Laurie
