About 14 days ago I noticed a small red bump on the right side of my penis where the shaft meets the glans, it was a little itchy but nothing too bothersome, I barely noticed it in fact.
I had intercourse with my girlfriend a day or so later and noticed that during the act, and after the act, my penis felt very itchy, burning, and irritated. I even remarked to her about this feeling and said to her it felt like she was very acidic down there, she did not notice anything like that herself and said I should just go wash myself to see if the feeling went away. I did and it worked.
Then a week after noticing the small bump for the first time, I saw now that it had turned into a lesion with a small scab on it.
And within another day I had 4 more spots, all with scabs on them.
So I saw the Doctor and asked him if it was Herpes and he said it most likley was and said it looked like it was going away currently, so he gave me 3 500 mg pills of Valtrex and some Acyclovir to put on it to keep the itchiness down. So I took the pills and have been applying the Acyclovir every few hours.
Unfortunately the infection/virus has spread dramatically from 4 lesions to about 14 or so now, with new spots in the developing stages.
ALL of these lesions have scabs on them, and from what I have read here, Herpes seems to be somewhat like a pimple and have a whitehead on them, whereas mine have never seemed to have that.
They start off as a little red bump and then 24 hours later, they are scabbed over. They are quite itchy sometimes, and the second lesion that occured, on the top of the glans, is much larger now than it was last Friday when I saw the doctor.
So I am very worried that this is not Herpes but something else since it is getting dramatically worse and does not seem to fit into the mold of how others define and describe Herpes.
So do you get scabs on the lesions right away?
Does it take about 24 hours for something to start as a small bump and turn into a full blown lesion?
Are the lesions all separated from each other?
BTW I have been in a steady relationship for 1.5 years and neither of us has been unfaithful during that time, and as far as we know, neither of us has any form of Herpes.
I am going back to the Doctor ASAP but wanted to ask here if anyone has seen this before or not.
Thanks in Advance.
