My current PCP refuses to believe in "any of those things"; those "things" being Fibromyalgia, Chronic Myofascial Pain, Chronic Fatigue, ect.....I have a preliminary diagnosis from an Orthopaedic Doc, but was told to see my Primary Doc for confirmation and or further referals. I am in constant pain, and have more issues to deal with than just Fibro (two ruptured disks, having had 8 knee surgeries, major depression and panic attacks). Does anyone know of a knowledgeable/sympathetic Doc in Mid-Michigan? Grand Rapids, Lansing, Mt. Pleasant areas? I know I must change PCP, but I would like the next one to at least acknowledge the condition......Please, HELP!!!!!!!

Good Luck, Dennfore! I live in Utah so I'm sorry I can't recommend anyone in Michigan. Actually, we moved from Mt. Pleasant to Utah when I was just two years old, small world! I was diagnosed with fibro about 10 years ago, I know how important it is to find a doctor that believes it is real and that knows how to treat it. I've been very lucky because my doctor treats several people with fibro and he stays very in tune with the latest info. Have you tried a rheumatologist or a neurologist?

There are a few DR's in Windsor, ontario & a fibro clinic
if that helps.
you need to see a rheumatologist

If anyone knows of a doctor that specializes in FMS in the Chicagoland area, I'm all ears.
Thanks

Anyway, I do appreciate you taking the time to answer. I did find a doctor that specializes in FM. He's way up on the north side. I'm way south. That's okay though. I hope it's worth the trip.

Well, I hope you get a doc that you trust and feel comfortable with, that is the most important thing. I have a great pain doc, and would recommend anyone with fibro to try to see a pain specialist. Especially since the main symptom and the most frustrating, at least for me, is the pain. My guy is great. He began treating me for herniated discs in my lower back, but he also regulates a strong pain med for both the back and fibro pain. He realizes that both conditions are painful for me. He is even helping me with my Social Security claim.
Anyhoo, let me know how you like your doc, or how your websearch works out. Good luck!
Wishing you a pain free day.
