i just read on another site that pain is not an early sign of cancer. is this true? and if so if my stomach has hurt a bit for a few weeks and i have no other cancer symptoms i am unlikly to have cancer ?

There are loads of causes of stomach pain, and most of them are unrelated to cancer. Aside from indigestion or a stomach flu or gas or food poisoning, vommon causes of abdominal pain include appendicitis or gall bladder disease. If you are concerned about the stomach pain, go see your primary care physician and air your fears to him or her. Your doctor can then direct further inquiry.
