Male, 31 years, been suffering from pain in the prostrate area - can't tell if its my tail bone though, as it occurs mainly when sitting down for long periods though it has woke me up a couple of times this year in the middle of the night when the pain is much worse than usual. No urinary problems but the thing is both my father and grandfather both had PC (both cured) in their 50's, and though I don't think I have PC I presume my chances of getting it are much higher than normal due to family history. But should I get myself checked out just in case?
Thanks for any advice.

HVP:
You may be suffering from tenesmus. But the cause should be determined. For your own peace of mind & based on your family history, why not get a PSA blood test run?? If your doctor won't do it, find one that will. Although rare, prostate cancer at age 31 is not unheard of. Please let me know what happens. Life is too short to miss any of it. I've been there.
