Ok, so I had my first outbreak in September and then nothing...
until NOW!!!!!
The doctor prescribed me Valtrex for 6 months to take 1/2 pill a day. She prescribed this because 3 weeks after the outbreak was over I went in to tell her that it still hurt to have sex. Well, my insurance ended and I didn't have the money to fill the scrip so here I am...I have 2 blisters. They feel fine until I pee and wipe. THen they are itchy/painful/ I can't help but drag myself off the darn toilet!!!
So is there anything I can do to help the symptoms or make the outbreak go away faster?

I feel soooooo bad for you, I've been there and know what it's like...You to your local drug store and get some Aloe Vera Gel, it comes in a spray...It stings @ first, but then feels soooooo much better. I spray anytime I feel a tingle and it seems to help. (I usually wear a pantiliner with it)Take your vitamins/anit-virals, don't stress, and as Backpacker always says getting enough sleep is very important. Read some old threads, that is alot of valuable info. in them....and feel better....You're in my thoughts and good luck, -Orn.

I've read on these boards that coraphor helps, its pretty expensive 93$ a bottle....but you can get it with out scripts, it's reported to dry up the blisters within a day! also, I used H2O2 during my last OB and the open area healed faster within a couple days. I applied with cotton balls and tried to keep it external. Read the borads though people are using lots of things that seem to help. and most of them are over the counter and very affordable.
