My allergist put me on Allegra D, since I've been taking it I notice that mucous comes out the other end. I skipped a day and this did not happen! What is the deal???? Anyone else have this experience??

No ... but if you still have problems at the "front end" when you're on the Allegra, you should ask for something else.

sounds like a reaction to the Allegra. Might be your diet as well. Eat a salad tonight and see what happens.

Chiggins,

I agree, I think it is a reaction to Allegra, if it were my diet, it would occur when I didn't take it, instead of only the days I do...

Have you been checked for a yeast infection? I just recently found out I have an overgrowth of yeast in my body that has been causing all kinds of problems. Check out Candida albicans and see if that seems familiar.

Has anyone else had this? I am on meds and a special diet. Would like to hear from anyone who is going through this.

Cricket, Hi, thanks for the reply. I have suspected a Candida problem for a long long time. I spoke to my doctor about it, he said there was no such thing. Just to humor me, he put me on diflucan for a week. What meds are you on? Did you suggest it to your doctor or did he/she come up with your diagnosis?

i went to an ENT who specializes in allergy treatments. He is really big on natural meds instead of so much of the other. Anyway, he was the one who told me what it was and i am taking Nystatin by mouth in powder form. There is a pill he suggested but he said it would cost @ $8.00 a pill and he said I would need about 80! I have to pay for my meds first, and then get reimbursed. I couldn't do that. So I take the Nystatin in juice 3 times a day. And he put me on a strict diet.

I can have nothing with: sugar
yeast
vinegar
citric acid
MSG
anything from mold (cheeses, etc.)
except White American cheese
milk

It's kind of hard to figure out how to eat. BAsically, it needs to be as fresh as possible, with none of the above in it.

Hope this helps.

It may not have anything at all to do with the Allegra. Irritible Bowel Syndrome can do the same thing to you. I know from personal experience... :bouncing:
