The steroid spray that I'm taking everyday is not helping much. Eventhough when I am not near any of my allergens, I still feel congested. I am just so tired and fatigue. I am on 800mcg of nasalcort spray. My nose is just always blocked with varying degrees. What are the treatments ppl with allergic rhinitis have tried?

I find that irrigation helps somewhat. I use a machine, and put warm water, 20% alkalol, and a Tbs of sea salt in the resevoir. I do this when I wake up, and before I go to bed.
My doctor said I should be using Astelin twice a day. I was on it briefly, but I'll try it again.
The steroid nasal spray doesn't do much for me either, but I've heard that it can take weeks before any benefit can be seen.
Saline nasal spray and sinufresh helps keep things moving, and prevents the hard-core clogging. You may want to try that.
Someone told me that some stores (like Linen N' Things) sell a "steam beauty mask", which is suppossed to really help. I'm going to get one today and see if it helps.

Irrigation really helps with this. Also, my doctor added Astelin, an inhaled antihistamine to my regimen. I have found that very effective.

Are you on the nasal spray Astelin?
