Hi there,
I am 21 years old, and for the past few years I have noticed my health fading.
I have changed my diet, started working out, and still I get worse.
I get very tired, usually happens in the afternoon. No matter how many hours I sleep, I still have very little energy.
There are no major health problems in my family, so I can't figure out why I feel this way.
During the past couple of years I have noticed my speech starting to get worse. I stutter, and I have problems concentrating and distracted very easily.
I also get dizzy spells and feel sick after I eat. I have been going to the bathroom a lot (urinating) and when I go, very little happens. Also my bowels movements have decreased big time.
My doctor's appointment isn't until Febuary 23, and I was wondering if there was anyone out there with some advice, or information.
I am really scared.

Hello there! I realize you must be quite scared not knowing what is wrong with you, but no use borrowing trouble until you see your doctor and go on from there. There could be any number of things going on with you, not necessarely MS. Try and stay positive and hope for the best, okay? Please let us know how your appointment goes. Take care and God bless!

I agree, don't unnecessarily worry about things.....because you don't feel good, it is not great to pile on the stress of worrying about everything. I know that is hard.
Because MS symptoms are like other symptoms of other diseases and conditions, only a doctor can tell you if you have it with the aid of the results of tests.
So, hang in there and post again to let us know what is happening with you!

I feel your doctor will know exactly what to look for at your exam. The symptoms you have had over the last couple years will help him know where to begin.
Glad your check up is soon, so you will not have to wonder. Hope you get feeling better soon.

Well, I went to my doctor's appointment.
I am very dissapointed.
I told my doctor how I was feeling and told her my symptoms.
She didn't even give me an exam.
She was quick to pull out her perscription pad and perscribe me sleeping pills.
My exam wasn't even 2 minutes long.
She didn't even do blood tests on me.
Needless to say, I'm not feeling any better.
Is there anyone who knows of a good doctor in Edmonton?
I need a second opion and someone who will spend more then a few seconds with me.
Thanks,
Jen

Hi Jen,
Sorry to hear about your lame office visit. It makes you wonder how some doctors are licensed to practice medicine! But I do know that there are a lot of good doctors out there, too. I have no idea about Edmonton. I'm glad you're not giving up. You're way too young to have so many unexplained symptoms. What type of doctor did you see? You might try seeing an internist or a neurologist.
Best wishes,
Julie

Hi Jen
I have the same problems. I feel dizzy once in a while throughout the day and I feel sick after eating. My Doctor here in Calgary gave me Losec and sent me on my way. Did not help. I will keep in touch if I find out what is happening with me.

Hello,
I have learned you have to get firm and sometimes even mean at a a doctor visit, ask them to run tests anyway, just to save the hassle of worrying later on.My mother has had Diabetes for years, and she will get dizzy and very tired after eating,so you may get your sugar checked.I have went thru 4 doctors til' I found one who would listen so don't give up yet.Wish you well,

Hi ABC,
Welcome to the boards. To post a new message, go to the main MS page and click the button on the top left that says 'new thread' and you'll be ready to go.
I wouldn't panic about MS at this point. There are a lot of other reasons that your fingers could be tingling, including pinched nerves and even thyroid problems.
Good luck with your next appointment.
Julie
