Can someone explain yohimbe, some labels read, standardized 2% and some say 8%. In detail if you can?
I'm buying Twinlab Yohimbe fuel, says 8% standardized. I'm told I need 15-20 mg of yohimbe. Can you explain what this 15-20 means as compaired to how much youhimbe is standardized?

The active ingredient in herbal yohimbe products is yohimbine. You can also purchase yohimbine in oral or topical products as yohimbine HCL. As an aside, I generally prefer topical products over orals because potential side effects such as elevated high blood pressure are minimized since the topicals bypass the liver.
"Standardized" means that each dose of a herbal yohimbe product has the same amount of yohimbine in it. For example, if the product label reads
"750 mg. of yohimbe standardized to 2%," then the active ingredient of yohimbine is 15 mg (750 x 0.02).
Hope this helps.

The twinlab yohimbe fuel is 400 mg caps and are standarized 8%
400 X .08 = 32 mg
Would this be right? It reads on the label that each capsule is 8mg, so this is why I don't understand.
You spoke of topical. I would guess this is liquid that you put on your body? I've seen some advertized but just wandered how effective it was. This is also more expensive I would think. Where on your body do you rub this yohimbine in at.

I got an email back from Twinlab that reads, each capsule is 8mg of yohimbine. They are 400mg capsules and standarized 8%. This throws your formula out the window by multiplying the total mg of the capsule X the standarized 2%. You are correct about the way its figured by some people. I've read on websites the very same thing you posted.
Maybe someone else will explain further. This important, cause too much of this yohimbe can be dangerous to your health, with the increase in blood pressure risk.
I have a bottle of SCI FIT massive yohimbe, 1200 each cap, standarized 2%. It reads on the label, each cap is 24mg yohimbine, which would make your formula correct. If this is the case then each Twinlab yohimbe fuel is 32mg, instead of 8mg. I read someone else post, that the standarized 8% was figured on each 100 mg that the capsule contained which sounds to be right.

Yes, your calculation is correct.
Topical solutions are meant to be used for spot reducing the abs and breasts in men, and the abs, thighs, and hips in women. This is because of a predominance of A2 fat cell receptors in these areas that have an affinity for yohimbine (yohimbine actually blocks the A2 fat receptors causing a release of fatty acids to be utilized as energy by the body).
Yohimbine products - both orals and topicals - can be moderately effective provided your bodyfat levels are no higher than normal, and you utilize a low-to-moderate carbohydrate/moderate-to-high protein diet. For the average male, that's 15% - 18% bodyfat, and for the average female, 18% - 22% bodyfat. In conjunction with thermogenic products such as ephedrine and caffeine (and yes, provided you don't have medical conditions specified on the warning label, and provided you do not exceed the recommended dosages, ephedrine/ephedra is safe), the effect can be more dramatic.
I suggest using the "Google" search engine to find websites that can provide a more detailed understanding.

I told you wrong, the Twinlab Yohimbe Fuel is standarized 8mg, instead of 8%. I read the label wrong. Twinlab Yohimbe Fuel is standarized 2%, but nowhere on the label does it read 2%. This was a little tricky. It just tell how many mg is in each capsule where most other products just tell what % they are standarized. Thanks for your replys!

Oh nuts,
After reading the posts, I ran for my bottle of Puritan Pride YOHIMBE BARK, 760 mg capsules. Unfortunately nowhere on the bottle is there any mention of a percent Yohimbine or the word standardized.
I've been popping 3 each morning (2280 mg.) and notice a little better action, a little loin buzz. Either I don't respond too well or this formulation is "weak as water."
I haven't tried it with Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra though.
I'd best try a standardized measurement before I pass judgement because, for all I know, I have several bottles of wood chips from a lumber mill!:D

Be careful taking this with caffeine, ephedra or other stimulants as it can greatly increase blood pressure.
