Hi! I need a sunless tanner that looks natural and looks good with light skin. What Brand and the product name do you prefer and is it hard to put on??? Where can you buy it??? I need one that wont wear off or come off onto clothing, I do not want it to rub off onto my prom dress. I would appreciate any help because this is my first time working with sunless tanners. Thanks!

Oh! :bouncing: Has anyone try the spray on tanners that gets sprayed on by a machine or person that you go to a salon to do??? How did you like it???

I like Banana Boat sunless tanner. It's cheap and forgiving. If you are nervous using self tanner for the first time, try mixing half moisturizer/half tanning lotion a few times until you get a feel for how dark you want to tan. Exfoliating really good before you put it on will also help get a nice even look. Have fun at the Prom!!!!

PS Be really careful around your feet, knees, and elbows, those areas tend to be dry and soak up the self tanner REALLY fast. It helps if you don't rub lotion straight on those spots, work it into the surrounding areas and blend it into those spots.

I haven't been to a salon, but I do use an airbrush tanning solution at home. I love it - it works so much better for me than the lotions. I know a lot of people who have used the salon spray-on tanners & they've been pretty happy with the results. The main thing is to find a salon that has a good rep & then try it out a couple of times before your big event, so that you can make sure you're happy with the results.

I replied to the thread "Any Suggestions" ...about Mystic tan.
I do it, it's at the salon and I love it.
I'll be going back in a couple months when the weather gets warmer and I'm not wearing bulky sweaters anymore. I like it better because I don't feel so dry & tight, also my skin isn't getting excess of UV. I get enough of that in the summer.
Check out that thread in here too, it was started basically for the same reason (fair skin).

I hope this helps.

I have used Neutrogena sunless tanning foam for about 1 year now, I love it not streaking or yellow look, but make sure you get the foam, I find it works better than creams or gels. I am fair, freckles and blue eyes so I burn and really don't want alot of wrinkles on my face so I use this especially all winter long its gives you some colour. With the mystic tan I haven't heard good things about it, I work at a gym and a couple of trainers got it done and they got streaks on there body.

Yes I agree - Neutrogena foam is great. I've used it more than a few times last year. But I would go with the lighter or what bunky uses since your fair skin. I tan easy so I get the darker.

And yes - the foam not the creams. My hairdresser looked like she had a nice tan from the beach and that's what she was using and she was fair skin.

Happy prom :)

Everyone is different - Neutrogena foam turned orange on me. I also am very fair, but somewhat DHA resistant - so I usually require a larger concentration of DHA to get tan. Neutrogena has a fairly low concentration, so it didn;t make sense that it turned orange - I had the same problem with Banana Boat & Coppertone Effortless color. It seems the drugstore products have that effect on me. I do well with SUN UD, Paula's Choice ALmost the Real Thing Tanning gel, & the airbrush tanning solutions.

So you may find that what works well for others, won't work for you. Because of that, never wait to try a oriduct right before a big event - you may get results that you're not happy with, but can't fix.

I just used Au Courant lotion and I love it. It's easy to put on, you can see where it's going, and it does not stink. I have used many products and this is one of the best.

Coppertone Endless Summer. I used this for my 9th grade Snowball Dance and everyone thought i went to a tanning salon and was tanning! I love love love that stuff. My now ex-b/f's sister recommended it to me and i am so glad she did! It doesn't smell very good though and will bleed on your clothes if you don't shower after about 5 hours. So wear bad clothes when you apply it and let it fully dry! but it looks totally natural and not orange or yellow. And i have VERY fair skin and blue eyes. Though i am part Italian so i do tan really well. O well... you should give this stuff a shot. But remember to always test a sunless product on a part of your skin that is not noticable so you can see if you like the color before you apply it all over. Good luck!

Hi. I used to work at a tanning place. We had the Mystic tan and also the airbrush tan.. the airbrush tan was awesome but to some it was uncomfy bc you had to undress to a bathing suit or something similar and have someone do it.. the mystic is good for some but for me i streaked and the orange tint was annoying.. i have heard fake bake is awesome.. britt spears uses it and we didnt see it at our salon bc it was so good!!!
