I've always heard mixed things about granola. everyone assumes it's healthy for you, but it really is high in calories, fat and carbs, but i've always assumed that these were good carbs, and the fat is coming from nuts and protein sources like that. i'm really watching my weight, so should i try to stay away from it or is it good for me?

Hello, I've never bothered with the granola cereals, because of the high fat content. I do eat the low-fat granola bars. I allow myself one for a morning snack. I figure it's a lot better than eating candy bars like my coworkers do. The granola bars are still lower in sugar than a regular candy bar and don't seem to affect my weight, trigs, sugar, or cholesterol.

Another good treat is warmed up apple slices with brown sugar and wheat germ.
