HEY ~ everyone ~ I'm back...
Missed you all… thought I would give you a quick update on the youngens’ and my whereabouts the past several weeks.
My father had a heart attach 1/8 and was air lifted into Tampa. On 1/13 he underwent quadruple bypass surgery. Since his release from the hospital they (my dad and mom) have been living with us. Now, during all of this with my folks I get a new boss in the office… He started on 1/12 - EE HAW… So that explains why I’ve been MIA for the past few weeks. BTW, dad is doing well and looking to me for guidance on diet exercise, etc. Funny how the balance shifts and the parent leans on the child for comfort and support. That one caught me a bit off guard I have to say.
Jake – WOW is all I can say… he is now 137 days without a seizure and progressing very well. He still is not talking, but he’s making so many new sounds, he responds to his name when called (most of the time as with any toddler) and I know that he signed for a drink as well as asking for a “dlink” a couple nights ago. He will carry a ball in one hand, kick or move a second with his other. He is trying with all his might! I can’t ask for more. There are still a few – please note I said FEW – little things that we are concerned with, but nothing like it was 6 mths ago.
Jenny – What a lady she is becoming! She is 131 days without a seizure. We have had a few “normal” teenage run ins and we saw a bit of a slip in her grades this past grading period. But the grades are nothing that she can’t overcome with a bit of help. I’ve spoken to the school counselor and we will be working on her schedule for next year as a group taking into account several different angles that may help her out. And I’m prepared to get a tutor for the rest of the year if need be. And the rest… well nothing that any other teen and parent has not been through.
So Art, get the little paper punchy things ready and every one join me in a little Friday afternoon :bouncing: ~*~ Happy Dance ~*~ :bouncing:
I want to hear how everyone is doing…
Lisa T, saw your post – keeping my fingers crossed.
Jessie, how is the implant working? How is your little girl doing?
Amy, how are you feeling – puking, tired, need a nap lol, the baby? Both of you doing well I hope…
Paula – I so hope you are still loven life. I’ll raise that glass of wine in toast tonight – “To the wonderment of life, both in good times and those less joyous!” Give Rebecca a big hug for me girl!
Art? Are you able to drive, still taking the bus?
Lindy, how is Tiff? ... and you to girl?
Jennifer, I’ve caught up with you for the most part! Thanks for being here for all the new parents that I may have missed!
KayakMom? Thanks for the well-wished whispers!! Thought I would take the chance and SHOUT it for a change!
I know that I’ve missed people here and I’m sorry… but please give me an update all the same.
Grumps? Kitty Mom? And any other lurkers…
Love and light to all of us!
(((HUGS))) to all my E family!
Lisa and kids
