Sorry you haven't received any response yet. Seems like the board is not very well traveled of late, but I did stop by these evening and saw that you had a question of concern about your mom.
First off, let me reassure you that MS is NOT a "deadly disease". That is a myth, not a fact. Your mom may be able to manage very well in the years to come. A lot depends on what type of MS she has and whether she's started or on meds to slow down the disease process. There are hundreds of thousands of people with MS who live full and productive lives.
I'm not a medical professional, so I will offer this as a site to go to...to read all about what MS is, what options there are, a site chocked full of info that is a must read for newly diagnosed and those who care about them:
