Hi everyone! For the last 17-18 years I've been pulling out my hair. Literally. I started with my eyelashes when I was 7 or 8 I think. Recently (last 1-2 years) I moved on to my head hair. I know there's a name for this, although it slips my memory at the moment. Obviously it's a long time habit (for lack of any other term) I was wondering is this some kind of OCD? How can I stop doing it? How many people do this? Luckily, I had really thick hair before I started, or I'd be bald by now. Any advice, suggestions, imput, and/or answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :D

What you have is trichotilomania.

There is much about this disorder on the web and groups you can join as well.

Trichotillomania is not quite considered o.c.d. , although there is a percentage of people who have trich that also have o.c.d.

There is medication for it as well as therapy.
