It went well and fast. I am actually recovering pretty well w/hardly any swelling today. My nose is bleeding a lot and there is a lot of the packing coming out little by little, but otherwise I'm ok. My doc did tell me I was going to be a bit dizzy for the next couple fo days and I am, but not as bad as I was before. He said it is from all the packing in my sinus passages and the swelling as well that cause it. He said w/in a few days everything should be feeling better. I am irrigating my nose 2x a day and that is really getting a lot of the stuff out. I am just glad it is over and now I'm waiting for recovery. Oh, and one thing that is odd, my ears are popping a whole lot!!! That started this morning and every time i yawn they pop. It actually feels really good when they do and it doesn't hurt. My ears haven't popped in a long time and have felt blocked. Must have been from the blocked sinus's that cause them to be blocked as well, cause they are feeling pretty good now. So weird!! I'll keep everyone posted in a few days how it is going.

That's great! I'm glad you're doing well. You definately had a nasty case, and I can relate.

Definately keep up on the irrigations. This has made a world of difference for me. I no longer have yellow gunk and blood coming out my nose in the morning -it's been clear for 10 days.

Your doctor may have already told you, but stay away from alcohol and caffeine. Both cause sinus swelling, and it's the last thing you need. I haven't had a drink in over 2 months.

Did they put you under general or local? Did they go through the nose?

It was general and my doc went through the nose. It was weird, I think the anesthesiologist(sp) slipped something in my IV on the way to the OR cause I was loopy and feeling weird. ONce i got on the OR table I was talking and the next thing i knew i was being woke up from my surgery.

Thanks for the advice about caffiene and alcohol. I don't drink anyways, but will take it easy on the caffeine. I need this stuff to clear up cause I'm ready to feel normal. The irrigation thing is wonderful! It really gets all that gunk out!

OK, so it is now 3 days after surgery and I'm still very dizzy. My doctor did say that I would likely be dizzy for a few days after the surgery so I'm trying not to worry, but I can't help but worry. It has also changed a bit. Before the surgery when I would ghet up in the morning I would feel so hard in my head and it would take a good hour to 2 hrs before I would start to feel dizzy. But, since the surgery I am dizzy almost immediately when I get up in the morning. Also, I feel draining immediately as well and I didn't before. I guess that is a good thing, but the dizziness is scaring me. I'm afraid it is not going to go away. I am very anxious about this and maybe I need to calm down a bit, but when you have been dizzy for over a month and think it is going to go away w/the surgery and it doesn't right after you start to worry. ANyhow, I am still pretty swollen as well and my i can't breathe very good through my nose. I called my doc yesterday and the nurse told me that I still sound very swollen and sometimes it takes a good week for it to go down. SO, what do y'all think? I'm pretty sure this dizziness is all from my sinus's and nothing else, but do you think I'm worrying to soon about this? I hope I am and that it will all go away soon.

Hang in there, the dizziness will ultimately go away. Give it at least a week, for the inflammation & swelling to go down.

I was dizzy for 2 months solid. After lots of medication and irrigation, the dizziness went away. ven the lightheadedness is now gone, and the only thing that remains is some nasal congestion (vasomotor rhinitis most likely).

Did your doctor give you Prednisone?

No, should he have given me the steroids after the surgery? I had 2 rounds of them before the surgery and they did nothing for me so that may be why he didn't. I am back on antibiotics to prevent infection from the surgery, but nothing for the swelling. I have talked to a few other's who said that they were pretty miserable for about a week after the surgery(dizziness, etc) and that once the swelling went down the dizziness went away. It should go away, but just seems so persistent. I just had my surgery on MOnday afternoon so I think i just need to be a bit more patient.
