hi everyone,
its jonhs hopkins for me in the morning, i have to get up at 5a.m. so we can be there in time! i hope and pray this dr. can give me some answers and tell me what has happened to my ears. i was pretty excited to have been told i needed another test before i saw the dr. maybe they will take me seriously unlike the fools i have wasted so much time with! if i have pet now i bet it was from the first idiot that put me on the hydrops diet. just needed to post, and vent! hope every one is doing well and hangin in there. i will post when i get home. anyone had the vemp test done? thats what i get next! thanks lib

well what a day! johns hopkins is an amazing place, well organized and great people! the dr. i saw was great, very nice, he listened and this is what he thinks......migraine, yup thats what he thinks my problem is. i am going for a special scan to check the inner ears and e. tubes also. he said he did not think i was developing hydrops or meineres as the other fool said. he wants me to make some changes in my diet and follow up in 3 months unless the scan says something different. so the wierd things that my ears do that i think is pet could be migraine. will have to read up on this. you do not have to have headaches with dizzy or motionsick! i am wondering about the pet still! hopefully the scan will show it if it is there! the vemp test was easy also so if you get it fear not! libby

I was told I may have some MAV contributing to my issues, but that my ears are still a problem as well, so I really want to know how your doc came to the conclusion that he did. Did they tell you low salt, no chocolate, cheese and so on? My Mom has terrible migraines (the headaches) and she has things she is supposed to avoid. Remind me, what's this PET that you are referring to? Is he going to prescribe any migraine meds for you to try?

not sure exactly i guess because i had a headache or two through this, he said you dont have to have a headache to have the motionsickness, so that was on that part. i am still not convinced, i need time to think about that. i was in bad shape for almost 2 months and then i was left with these ear symptoms.noise sensitive, popping and crackling, reverberation and my voice bothering my ears, that why i think i have pet also that when your eustachian tubes are to open. i put a scope in and checked them and said they looked good so i am getting another scan done to check the inner ear and the tubes. i think i had a vestibular upset somehow, and he did say i could have had some positional vertigo. i also think my eustachian tubes are shot. will let you know what the scan says! if there is any way you can get to hopkins i would i know its far but i think it would be worth the trip, they know alot more about things that are out there that a lot of docs dont. remember i went to a very reputable neurotoligist and he did not know what i had! hang in there! lib
