Well, In may 2003, I had an HIV test. It was negative. An encounter worried me and now, 9 months later from the encounter (Happened shortly after results), I quickly convinced myself this morning to have another one. My mom, who is a great supporter of me, when I told her, said, well, I dont know why you have to take things so far. She said, I guess it's something I will never understand"

I don't know if you have been diagnosed with o.c.d. or not. Excessive worrying about one's health can also be hypochondriasis.
I would say have the test done if you are still worried about it, but also see a psychologist/psychiatrist to sort out the psychological aspect of what is going on.

Yes I have been diagnosed with OCD. I am taking 80mg of Provac daily. I guess this is something I will always struggle with unless I am 100 in every way abstinent...

I don't know how valuable my advice is, but here goes...
I think if you have talked w/ this person and have abosulte serious reason to believe you might have HIV, I would consider getting a test done. However, if this person says they are almost positive they do not have it, I would talked with a non-biast friend. Explain your sitiuation and ask what they would do in your situation. If it is just the OCD that is causing you to worry, then I don't think a test is needed. Again, I'm not sure, so if this doesn't make sense....
Good luck,
-Len

The test was negative and I definately think OCD caused me to do it. The funny thing is I actually called twice and talked to the receptionist. She said it was negative, and i called back and asked her if she was sure if was my name she was looking at. Crazy! Anyway I still feel uneasy, like I really am not negative. I told my mom and she said, its almost like youre disapointed. I Said, I know, but that TOTALLY isnt the case! I do not want to be positive!
