I am planning to start Prolotherapy on my ankle ligament (previously torn ATF) and would like to know if anyone has tried this.
Also, I've been having muscle spasms throughout my leg. Could this be because of the ligament or possibly the torn miniscus in my knee?

isn't prolotherapy an injection of something? I think I may have heard about it but injecting some unknown chemical to cause scarring or inflammation? sounded very dubious to me. Who is doing it? A licensed medical doctor? I don't really know too much about it so would be interested in how you find it (I have snapping hip and prolotherapy is apparently something that could treat it)
There are so many possible causes of muscle spasms! overstretching, understretching, dehydration, low potassium, immobility

I underwent PROLOTHERAPY injections 5 years ago for weak ankle ligaments. Constantly had ankle sprains..
HELPED tremendously in making things stonger !!!
Highly recommended...
Injection ingredients - can't remember; but a viable treatment for sure !!

That's good news! It's not a chemical - I believe it's dextrose and some kind of saline solution. No chemicals, thus no patent, thus no money to be made for the drug companies. ;) It's supposed to stimulate growth without scar tissue.

dextrose does sound familiar....
I remember going to 2 doctors...
$$$ varied tremendously between the two.
1 believed in massive injections in the the ligamewnts, the other believed in
"peppering" the ligament as he called it-- little short shots the entire length,
and yes - the theory behind it is to beef up the ligaments, make them stronger so the joint can work better.
This therapy has been around a long time.
My insurance was not going to pay for treatments until I did some research and provided documented facts on the treatment, results etc....
good luck !!!!!!!!
it's also called reconstructive therapy-- worked gor me !!!!!!

Sugar water is in the shots and maybe fish oil.
Did your pain remain gone? I am in the middle of a course of Prolotherapy for my back.
