Hi everyone! I just thought I would tell you all about my appointment today. It was my one month post op visit (double bunionectomy), and it went ok. I am having some trouble with my incisions still being tender and he said that isn't normal, and then told me it is because of those stupid dissolveable stitches!! he said my body isn't absorbing them like it should and they are trying to work their way out...(again, or should i say still!!) anyway, he said that as long as there isn't a blister not to worry about it, otherwise....he will have to go in and take them out! Go figure, i am the one with the goofy body that won't absorb these stupid things! I did have a blister on one of my incisions last week, but it has gone down for now anyway. Anyway, now i am just nervous that I will have to go in and have this done. The thought of having my feet cut open again is miserable! Other than that, everything is fine, he said the bones are almost healed, and thought the majority of my swelling should be better in about 3 more weeks. He said that because I had both feet done at once, the swelling will take a little longer to get better. He did say to expect very minor swelling for several months, but it shouldn't be anything like it is now. I am really beginning to wonder if I will ever feel 100%!!!!!! Mandy

Hi Mandy! Sorry to hear about those stitches. Oh man, I really hope they don't have to open you back up again. Absorb, absorb!!

That's great the bone is almost healed and that most of the swelling will be down in 3 more weeks.

Are you keeping your feet elevated a lot? I will be on my feet for a while and then I need to elevate for a few minutes to give my feet a break. It's so much better than it was before, but I know there's a lot more to go. I finally got some tennis shoes today. A MEN's size 7 extra wide, lol!!! Not the prettiest things in the world, but at least they fit!

Take care!

Hi Mandy, Sorry to hear about the stitches. That is a real bummer. I hope they do disappear and you don't have to have them taken out.
I hope you continue to recover and the swelling goes down.
I found keep my foot up alot helped so much. My husband was great about that and he still has been telling me to do it if I need to. He has been more understanding about this than anything I have gone through before.
Hope that you will be better soon. Hugs , Polly
